hey folks... it's a new month and a new year. thank you for the continued support.

so, getting down to business: told my landlord and signed all the paperwork indicating we're not renewing our lease here because we couldn't find a roommate. i can say immediately that i was already kind of expecting it to go this way because me and my wife are both transgender people who are so far into transition that we are both unwilling and unable to really "go back in the closet" -- especially at home -- and we live in a red state. i made it crystal clear that we were transgender in our seeking roommates ads.
anyway, that means i have to also find a new place to live by the end of february... whew! i'm going to start looking for places i could potentially afford on my income alone pretty much immediately. the initial costs are going to be an issue itself but i'm not gonna get ahead of myself.

in addition to that, i'm going to need to pull a hefty amount of commissions in for the next few months in preparation for tax season. while most people just have taxes put into the system out of every paycheck they get, and then get a return during the beginning of the year when they file, if you're self-employed you have to send about 15% of your income from the year in a lump sum.
i used to have a savings account with several thousand dollars set away for emergencies and, more pressingly, TAXES, but my dad, during my hiatus on here, drained, without exaggeration, all of this so he could spend his paychecks on his meth problem. i paid last year by pawning off some of my possessions. i feel kind of stupid for not putting more away for this, but i was really strapped for most of the year, so i'm just going to say i'd feel stupider if i ignored this until they were due and was completely unprepared. for now it's just going to be busy so that doesn't become like, a crisis.

i don't really know how it's going to shake out, so i don't want to talk myself into a corner at the beginning of the year. last month i said i was probably going to keep updates to a minimum, but i ended up restraining myself with folie a dupe strips i could have done enjoyment because i felt like i said i wouldn't do many, basically.
i also had a doodle dump i was going to post yesterday, but instead i ended up drinking for new year's eve and forgot... so the next sketch dump will probably be on thursday or friday and just drawings i did in the last month of 2019.
besides that, it's just gonna be kind of whatever i can do beyond the weekly fresh meat updates.

anyway, sorry i don't really have a like navel-gazey summary of the last year with my accomplishments or anything. if i'm being honest, once you start making this much art regularly, it gets harder and harder to pick favorites or stay concise.
