Australia on Edge : March to Fascism (Audio Only)

Comments

Protesting shows solidarity, draws attention, raises awareness... inspires people to act. Not pointless

David McIlveen

The whole framing of the marches is entirely non productive. As you've both hit on, these marches are driven by sentiment rather than plan to address their anger. While I do think immigration has been too high for too long, labor is sadly stuck with an impossible problem, which Ross Garnaut calls Australia's "dumb luck". In economic terms, if you want growth you can increase the working population which dilutes the GDP per capita or you can make your population more productive. The former has been a frog in a boiling pot situation, where now we're realising its impacts, the latter requires pain now for future gains. Either way requires pain, and Australia avoiding recessions has made the general population really complacent. And as someone who is teaching at a Uni in "analytics", I'm seeing people pass with little critical thinking or basic high school math. Don't look here if you want productivity.

The issue of migration is tied to a larger issue that no one in mainstream media or politics will ever cover and that is demographics of the nation. Australia as a nation is now 54% European, that number will drop as our birth rates are declining and instead of up skilling the population which is impossible because of a failure of democracy they will import more people who are not Australian. Those people who marched were not marching because immigrants bad , they march because they don’t want people who don’t look like them and don’t share their views in this European majority country. When you import third worlders they initially have a higher birth rate which leads to the majority native demographic population becoming less and less prominent and more displaced. any discussions about this are regarded as Nazi or racist or hateful but this merely comes off as a means to silence legitimate concerns and criticisms about how multiculturalism will affect this nation into the future and will lead to further radicalisation of the European population in Australia maybe not all but a lot of people who look at our country and think that we have ruined it by continually pumping in these people to fatten the economy. Regardless of your feelings towards this. constantly pushing for unity is just a way to smear legitimate concerns about the cultural gel, the new generation is more hateful towards Europeans than ever, the majority of gen z view Europeans as colonisers and power hungry barbarians who committed all of histories wrongs, I literally have to learn about “white” privilege at university to reinforce how I somehow have advantage because of who I am. If migration isn’t addressed it will only get worse.
