Idk if it’s the same in Sydney but Melbourne has a healthy circuit of stupidly paid corporate gigs. However unfortunately everyone in these circuits seems unable to prevent the sterile nature of the gig to infect all of their playing, so the larger jazz scene is actually quite cold and doesn’t evoke any of the feelings you guys were raving about.
