I agree that parts of what they are doing will allow china to rise up in foreign aid. But given the EPA, the safety agency and other agencies being shut down because they were suing Elons multiple companies that ignore all the rules that were written in blood to protect workers. I don't want that happening to result in America falling, as Australia will go down with it.

For Australia and other global north economies, this may give the impetus to decouple from the US and reverse global concentration on the US and embrace a change. It will be bad near term, but I want to believe medium term this would be better than 2010-2020, stagnant decade post GFC.
