Stoping Tariffs did kill the Australian car industry and as a result lose part of what made Australia. Before tariffs were reduced there where 3 major manufacturers ( ford , holden , and Chrysler Australia ) all of these buildings almost completely Australian designed cars. That where exported to almost every right hand drive country in the world. Sometimes Australian cars of the 70s where so good they would even assemble them in countries such as Nz , South Africa and Thailand. by the 80s tariffs had been reduced and as a result 100,000 of thousands of cars had been imported making the car industry in Australia less competitive and it slowly died out from then onwards and our cars got worse. There were also multiple other companies building foreign cars in Australia before tariffs were cut such as Leyland , Volkswagen , Mercedes, amc to name a few. With the closing of the Australian car industry it didn’t just lose thousands of jobs it also lost a lot of skills that are vital to Australian security and prosperity. If the Australian cars industry hadn’t been killed of by tariffs. They could be by now making competitive electric cars to export all around the world.

Ali you simplify shit way too much you only half understand shit.

Andrew Stanley

The trade imbalance is because we don't manufacture stuff, we don't just hand money over to America.

Andrew Stanley

Ali you're wrong about the peace deal, trump did nothing for it. We know he wants to wipe Palestine off the map. We just wants to claim the win.

Andrew Stanley

Haha love hearing Caspian report on here. Always a good geopolitical watch when I’m scrolling through YouTube. Could you boys do a bit of a deep dive into Trumps AI program and what that could mean for Aussies working in tech here. Would be interesting to hear your take. I mainly see it as a learning tool if it can be used correctly. Similarly to early internet that went from universities sharing knowledge to a hive of debauchery and misinformation on just over a decade.

More on musk's links to the neo Nazis of Germany, on Bernie Sanders YT channel https://youtu.be/7ZObMDPR7CQ?si=nOEbEbEsBkkFA6KD

Boys not sure if you’re familiar with channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan on YouTube. His recent film Dear Kelly follows the story of a man whose life completely imploded from denial and fear leading to his indoctrination to QANON and his families struggle to pull him back. I remember Jordon talking last year about a theory where people who have suffered a failed business are more likely to fall into reactionary politics. Don’t quote me exactly but there was a stat in there where 65% (ish) of people prosecuted for Jan 6 riots had their house repossessed or are in significant debt to a creditor.

Gender is a social construct, which may not make sense to the neuro diverse leading to gender dysphoria in some and over performance in Elon. I don't see what enforcing dated rules on gender achieves other than a net harm to minority, sense of superiority for bigots and no material effect for the majority.

Bryan

Kinda tempted to listen through all the episodes to find the alleged quote from Ali predicting Elon become the batman villain. Maybe it's my -tism and semantics, but Jordan calling him a "brilliant engineer", despite all the good or bad, is just false. He came to America's, got an econ UG degree, enrolled in some physics degree, didn't finish it and then started some business ventures on a student visa with his brother. So I don't believe he has/had great technical skills after graduating which would be causal to his business success. Henry Ford is an innovator, but I wouldn't label him "brilliant engineer". The innovations he's brought to the world are likely him listening to his workers and empowering them to achieve his vision. So many of these tech Billionaire's like to "wash" their image by talking about STEM and how well they can talk about its potential. Many of them had enough understanding of tech, good business acumen and some luck. This perception/heuristic that being "smart" is causal to being uber rich needs to be broken! Gina the Hutt is hardly examplar of an innovative woman in mining.

Bryan

Jordan is right Elon is Artie Ziff.

Jason Wellstead

Obviously, men are doctors and women are nurses.

Yakub Da Scientist

There are only two genders.

Dean

It's all well and good for Ali to argue that nations like Mexico and Ukraine should just put up and shut up because of the elephant next door. I'd like to see him say that to Ukrainian citizens who are dead set on expunging Russia from their land. It's a cynical and shit head thing to say in my estimation (and I like you a lot Ali). Also, by that logic, Marles saying Australia is open for business in terms of green investment, just watch what happens when the Chinese or other nations America has beefs with looks to invest in Australia. Won't Trump shut that shit down in a hot minute?? Australia is not a sovereign nation (in the context of America).

Dean

Bro if you want esoteric symbolism how about Trump being the only president to ever be inaugurated under the Apotheosis of Washington (apotheosis means deification) which depicts George Washington in Ancient Roman robes ascending to heaven. It also features several Roman goddesses. Bring on the mars 360 currency system after the stock market crash between June and September.

Yakub Da Scientist

I've also seen something about the Fraktur font on the black MAGA hat he wore to the Madison Square Garden Trump rally. Apparently it's the same font the Nazis used. Not to mention that MSG was infamously the site of the 1939 American Nazi Party gathering. The alt-right loves their esoteric symbolism, it's like a little inside joke. On the actual salute, as Yakub said, it was a strong arm salute.... Look at his thumb in particular, which was tensed, not relaxed and spread out... That was the thing that clinched it apart from the emphatic chest beat.

Putz

Yeah I grow tired of the LGBT conversations like any other heterosexual cisgender man but it is factually incorrect to claim there are only two genders. Even aside from Transgender, Intersex people do 100% exist.

Yakub Da Scientist

Yeah he was their number one rocket man

Yakub Da Scientist

Knowing tech bros, he’s had it man. He’s definitely had it. He tripped in and went the other way to us. He discarded connection with the universe and aligned with the individual’s effect on the universe.

George

He’s autistic enough to rationalise it. He identifies as an alpha male. He’d do a sieg heil.

George

And von Braun was a nazi wasn't he?

Alex Isaac

The trans thing is stupid as hell. It’s gradually being proven that all people with autism and many with other levels of neurodiversity have varying levels of gender dysphoria, from just wanting to play with the other genders toys, to furries, to full trans. In research interviews they report a lack of agency in the manner they’re identified, when they get to choose they become much higher functioning, with some even disqualifying from a disorder diagnosis down to a trait diagnosis. There is an absurd amount of tech and IT key personnel risk on flights to furry conventions. Crash the stock market level risk. And trump is now telling neurodiverse people essentially to go fuck themselves? The ignorance is galling. It hurts my brain. Just smashed their own tech scene while investing $500bn in that exact same tech scene. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Alan Turing, Stephen Hawkings, all had neurodiversity. Take one look at the current tech billionaires and tell me they aren’t neurodiverse. Musk identifies as an alpha male, it’s so obvious and laughable, look at his boasts and how many kids he has, he’s essentially seeking male gender affirmation analogously to a trans person seeking female gender affirmation.

George

Bro it’s 2025 chicks aren’t lying about their body count. If she says 289 it’s 289, if she says 4 it’s 4. (289’s are a better time than the 4’s stop being a little bitch)

Yakub Da Scientist

Exactly, it is 100% a sieg heil. The soldiers would do a strong one arm salute because they were saluting the one. Hitler would cast his right arm over the crowd to salute all, that’s exactly what Elon did.

Yakub Da Scientist

I always thought he was named Elon after the character in the Werner von Braun book Project Mars

Yakub Da Scientist

Ali, the “here’s my advice, take my advice” rhetorical style is weird when directed at nation states. Ya ain’t Paul Keating or Kissinger.

-thundergolfer-

It's crazy to me that Jordies so readily dismissed the Musk salutes as the awkward flailing limbs of an autist. It's not like it was a one off action, he did it three times, and they were like-for-like reenactments of Hitler's salutes at his rallies. I think it's far more likely that Musk did them on purpose, knowing full well that he'd get away with it and that he'd have a huge base rush to defend him. I'd happily be proven wrong, but I just can't see how this is any way defensible. He's the richest man in the world, who bought himself into a position of power as the President of the USA's right hand man, and he was proving to the world that he's untouchable.

Daniel

I hate both the DNC and GOP trump and biden are BOTH zionist masonic scum!

Atallah Khoury աթալլահ

Isn't there a chance that Trump and Bibi were in cahoots over keeping the war on Gaza a lasting issue that would hurt the democrats chances of winning the election? The war seems like it would benefit both sides, Bibi takes more land and kills more Palestinians and the Dems voters are split over whether they can vote for a party supporting Israel.

Marc

How was Elon rejected? He was born to millionaires and named after a book written by a nazi according to Robert Reich.

Alex Isaac

Yep. Merit based was already in action, that was the point of inclusion. Getting rid of the boys club. It's just apeasing the scare campaign constantly on fox and sky news.

Alex Isaac

70s Holden's are not that bad Jordan. They were better than American built cars at a much smaller scale. The last of the commodores were as good as BMW's but much cheaper. But yes tariffs are not really needed.

Alex Isaac

Give Mark Zuckerberg some acid that’ll make him find himself
