How we got lantana

As a qualified conservationist and bush regenerator, the first part of the pod killed me.

Gough Whitlams beautiful taint

i’d have to disagree with Mislav on Kimchi being healthy, It’s chockloads of sodium and the unhealthy aspects of the food outweighs the benefits. y’all be sleeping on pure natural yogurt, cheap in terms of per serving for probiotics

Burcey B

im sorry jordan but to say yakult is better for you than kimchi is insane

Spot on Aidos 👍

Great pod! The thought of Mislav doing it solo makes me want to kill myself though - thanks !

Trent Fish

Haha, love that catchy Intro!

Ali knocked it out of the park RE: online identity.

Mislav is 100% right about some foods tasting better the next day. Red sauces especially improve after a day in the fridge because it gives it time for starches to break down and for deeper flavours to develop. Also Ali there's nothing wrong with your dream. Nothing is more Australian then wanting to own a home with a yard.

Nuclear provides base load power, which is exactly what the Australian energy grid doesn’t need in a transition to mostly renewable generally we need leaking power. This is provided best by gas which can be turned on in a few minutes and doesn’t need to run 24/7. As batteries get better and more commonplace, and more hydro comes online, gas use for peaking will decline, economically because it’s extremely expensive, and hopefully because there will be policies in place to ensure we phase it out. Renewables and storage backed by gas, decreasing as more storage comes online, is Labor’s ambition and policy. It makes sense economically and environmentally, it requires huge of the grid but they are addressing that adequately and as fast as they can. Being at the back end of the supply chain means we get expensive materials and a crippling labour shortage means these projects can’t all happen magically and at once but it’s amazing what policy direction from the states and (now) federal government has done for the transition. It’s happening now and I think one more term of labor (majority or minority because the teals are backed by renewable money) will set it in stone and send us down the “right path”

There's been bacteria and fungi discovered in the wild that have evolved to digest plastic. Not to say we can afford to continue pumping single use plastic into the ocean, but Nature finds a way!! https://www.nature.com/articles/s41587-024-02401-1

Artificial Carbon capture isn't gonna be a thing. I'll find the source but basically the only industrially operating atm is for an American gas plant. They had to build a wind power plant to operate it. It's cheaper and easier to rewild and reestablish ecosystems on degraded land. Shit is so cheap too

Bonglord69

Carbon capture is a fantasy with current technology. I could link you up with Rosemary Barnes who runs the YouTube channel ‘Engineering with Rosie’, she’d be a great resource for educating yourselves and the audience. We both consult to the same startup. https://youtube.com/@engineeringwithrosie?si=vXbQ9f5nl6h3Kd9n
