Rachel, it is very clear you're from Albany and appears breaking out of that retirement coastal town did not allow you to grow in world view. All these fkn opinions about people going into America to work never touch the root cause as to WHY are these people moving to the western nations? There’s growing Latino support for republicans amid resentment towards illegal immigration & wokism (most Latinos here are Catholic). Trump is gaining w. Black males: 70% of Black children grow up without the father, leaving Black males disaffected and looking for representation. Texas bussed illegal immigrants to major cities all over the country, and it had the intended effect. Before that, immigration wasn’t really a MS issue. I don’t know if ppl are eating the pets in Springfield Ohio, but they *are* taking in 1000s of ppl who barely speak English, don’t know the laws, and use up limited local resources like social workers. Imagine 20k Sudanese arrived in Albury or Lismore within just a few years. There’s no infrastructure for it. It all feels so much more chill than 2020, which was scary. It’s like there’s a feel of collective exhaustion in the air. But there are still heaps of yard signs, mostly for Kamala in my liberal neighborhood. Mail-in voting is easier now: Usually the Dems dominate early voting, but this year it’s more even. Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico trash, then Biden called Trump supporters trash.
