Small businesses are really easy to start in Australia, all you need is an ABN. I am literally in the middle of creating a small business right now and marketing myself. The issue is, much like house owners over-mortgaging themselves to own their houses, small business owners put themselves into mass amounts of debt for literally no reason and then just get themselves fucked over. Both ends of the spectrum are just idiots doing those things, not because they want to but because they're told to, they make terrible decisions, then blame government.

If you just took away that then you would spend 2 thirds of your life in squalor, and then that last third would be heavily effected by issues created with lack of at, the very least, a storage facility for your belongings / safe bed to sleep in. Housing is THE issue, not "an" issue. Just because YOU are lucky enough to sit slouched on a couch and bitch and moan, and a couple of Greenies have rich parents who help fund them doing that (safely endagered or whatever) doesn't mean everyone else can. Some people have family members with mental health issues to support, or parents with mega gambling addictions. To say "if you just ignore housing we have it good" is an incREDIBLY out of touch thing to say. If housing was fine, and it was literally just cost of living or fuel prices being outrageous and said "if you ignore cost of living we have it pretty good" then yeah, I would agree with you 100%. But housing is literally THE issue.
