NI wanna say this, so im out of high school now grad in 2020, in year 10 i was not sure what I wanted to do but i love fighter pilots so randomly i decided tp try go for it, however i realised this too late as the prerequistes for physics was in year 10 and by then i was already locked into my trade course and couldnt change out of it, i tried phyics the next year but didnt know any of the presumed knowledge for it
with that i abandoned that dream for me. Now ive moved on to better things i enjoy more but does show a somewhat flaw in our education system

Mislav, in regards to the nature/nurture with food and taste I would say look at the diet of old folks that grew up in the Great Depression.

The preshow is included in the main pod uploads for Patreons (usually says 'patreon cut' or something in the title). It's not a separate upload like the up late is.

If I have to subscribe to both patreon and twitch for preshow... I'm going to cancel my patreon

Kind of? I feel that like you said it's better than the default method of brainlessly scrolling to kill a few minutes here or there but I feel it's better in that it's something I choose to tune into once a week and the long format can be more conducive to deeper thought on whatever they might be talking about. I don't wanna say patreon is better just because you're paying but it definitely means something if you're actively choosing to participate like that. I'd take it over scrolling 100 times out of 100

I'm interested to know what the boys - and I guess the other Patreons here - think about whether they regard this platform as another for of social media.
To my mind, this platform reminds me a little of the message boards and php forums that were big back in the day (2005 - 2010).
I was a big forum lurker back before social media took off and then social media kind of replaced them. Now I feel like these platforms (Patreons, Discord, WhatsApp for example) are replacing social media platforms.
Like Mis, I find myself at the end of my social media addiction. I don't enjoy social media and I have increasingly taken notice of how I feel when I'm brainlessly scrolling say, Twitter or Instagram. It's a sick feeling, unpleasant and I don't even feel any sort of hit from it. I did deactivate my Facebook account months ago and I haven't been back but I'm too much of a pussy to pull the trigger and delete it full stop.
But do platforms like Patreon count as social media?

Hiro and Naga were not justified based off the pure fact that they were literally about to surrender. The only reason the bombs were dropped was literally to initiate the Cold War as Truman didn't want Russia gaining any foothold in Japan and wanted to force Japan into submission before Russia declared war on them.
The only 'justification' that is valid I have seen is, the use of the bomb was inevitable for humanity to understand the destruction it can cause, so at least it was used on a violent imperial empire rather than the violent imperial empire using it. Still, the usage of the bomb on civilians, no matter how "militarised" they were is abhorrent.

Re published schooling and illiterate people now vs the 60s and 70s, I'd definitely say there were more illiterate people then based on the adults of that era I meet. Public schools actually have overall higher results than private. Plus private schools get rid of the underperforming and troubled kids by year ten to not upset Thier score average. Until the 90s there were technical schools that mostly boys went too in order to train to be in trades, that doesn't happen now. So you have bored kids who have no interest in most of school causing the horror stories.

I just got and started reading ‘Byzantium and Venice, a study in diplomatic and cultural relations’. I’ve been fascinated on the Venice topic every since I heard Jordan talk about it in the pod and on Neel and Jordan. I’d love if you guys deep dive into it again.

Not all, generally strategic arms are H bombs because they're either for very big or very hard targets (Missile Silos and Cities). Where as Tactical weapons being used for smaller targets such as large troop movements and creating holes in lines of defence are generally smaller for instance the Mk 8 203mm Nuclear Artillery Shell was about 10kt or the W25 with 1.7kt tactical nuclear weapons using a thermonuclear device are generally not particularly practical due to the extra size/weight and the fact that it means you'll risk wiping yourself out too.

Just feel the need to point out they have built Hydrogen Bombs (there actually pretty stock standard of Nuclear Weapons these days) for instance in 1961 the Soviet Union tested the AN602 "Tsar Bomba" the largest man-made thermonuclear detonation ever of 50-58 megatons which is about 3500 times the power of Little Boy (the 1945 Hiroshima Bomb).

Every single nuclear warhead in the global arsenal is a hydrogen bomb. It consists of a fission primary and a fusion secondary. That’s why it’s so intense lads. We moved on from fission Bombs almost immediately, because fusion requires an astronomical amount of energy to start a reaction. It was a natural progression. The problem with fusion is the energy required to start the reaction, a problem fission almost immediately solved when you want the reaction to occur very quickly, i.e. a bomb.
