This is the kind of Up-Late content I want to hear more of. I had a good laugh. Please make more Up-Late content like this one. Also, why can't you guys eat first and then record the Up-Late pod?

jordan the ship that we intentionally sunk was the u.s.s. maine, and that was to justify joining the spanish american war. β€œspain sunk the maine.” that might be what you’re thinking of. it was interestingly enough one of our early examples of agenda driven journalism. - another reason we joined wwi, was on account of germany trying to coax mexico into invading us with them.

I wonder what you boys reckon about this article/podcast on ww1, listened to it a while back and found it quite interesting, https://www.corbettreport.com/wwi/ A bit more conspiratorial I know but interested to hear your boys opinion. Good stuff for Mislav to sleep too.

I feel like it took us two world wars just to figure out that capitalism requires regulations and cooperation between nations. When rising tides fail to lift all boats, the Germans showed us what can happen when a nation feels like it’s sinking, and the communists when a class is sinking.

The more videos I watch of theirs, the less and less I like them. They seem to be cut from the Greens cloth.

This might be somewhat off track but I'm reading "Under Western Eyes" by Joseph Conrad presently. It was written in 1910 and it basically predicted WW1 and the events that would lead to the Russian Revolution. Not only that, it talks more than a few times about the propaganda model that has infected our current discourse. Fucking 1910!! Mislav, if you can get yourself a copy, do yourself a favour. As a character study, it portrays perfectly the time and the circumstances that pushed people towards revolutionary action and war and basically sets up the path of the 20th century. I only read "Heart Of Darkness" for the first time this year. While I liked it a lot (having seen Apocalypse Now a dozen or so times in my life) "Under Western Eyes" is a far superior tome. You'll be sitting there (like I am right now at the Ramsgate Hotel down here in Adelaide) going "Fucking Whoa!!!" each time you get to a good bit. Much love boys.

Unironically the best books to read to learn early childhood development is straight up the local Early Childhood Education Textbook from your TAFE
