2021-11-11 11:48:36 +0000 UTCI agree with Mislav but I'm all for bands evolving their sound. Personally I think it is not Wes's guitar but more the production. Significant Other and CSATHFW were produced by Terry Date who works with really heavy bands (Pantera, Slipknot, Deftones) and you can feel that vibe through both albums. The guitar has depth. Gold Cobra was produced by Fred himself. So the sound is still on brand with the band. It might have been his first foray into producing so not as strong as the 2 previously mentioned albums. This could be why it lacks the funny Jordan speaks of. Still Sucks has 4 producers and I think it's a case of too many chefs. In my opinion, if they just kept with 2, being Fred and Zakk (who works with a myriad of artists) it would have sounded as good as SO and CSATHFW. Not to say I'm not listening to it, I just vibe the early stuff more. Fred Durst our lord and saviour. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
