2020-02-13 07:59:52 +0000 UTCWeird fact about me is that I own Doug's First Movie on VHS. Don't know why, but I do and I've watched the movie multiple times. So I do kinda have some affection for Disney's Doug. Even the new theme. The salmon guy I believe is supposed to be Guy. He was a romantic rival for Patty, kind of a smug punchable type of dude.
2020-02-12 13:46:25 +0000 UTCSorry, but I have to nitpick one thing: 1997. That's when One Saturday Morning and Brand Spankin New Doug debuted. I pretty vividly remember a big change in shows, Saturday Morning or otherwise, going into the Fall of '97. For sitcoms a lot more of them tried to Friends-ify their formula, and (as mentioned) a lot more attempted educational elements and Pokémon entered the picture. Also, Nightmare Ned met an untimely end over the summer, and 8-year-old me was so disappointed.
