On this month’s Bellingchat Premium, senior researcher Nick Waters talks to Eoghan Macguire about Bellingcat's latest resource -- the ability to send a satellite to capture imagery of any location on earth.
Bellingcat has purchased a subscription to Planet Labs, a private company whose satellites can capture 50cm resolution imagery of requested sites of interest within a few days.
Just a few years ago, satellite imagery of this quality was largely unavailable to the non-profit and independent researchers who play a key role in Bellingcat’s work.
Now, we hope this resource will help aid our investigations and research, while reader suggestions of locations to look into are also very much encouraged.
You can read more about how we plan to use our new satellite imagery resource by reading this article on our website. You can also suggest locations to be photographed by getting in touch via our social media accounts or by email via satellite (at) bellingcat (dot) com.
We've attached an MP3 of the podcast to this post as well as allowing you to listen on your platform and device of choice.
