It is a different situation but even if it was a sarcastic joke or a comment, it's still a weird comment. What's so funny about threatening physical violence? I would be absolutely livid if my boyfriend threatened to smack my head, even if it was a joke. It seems completely reasonable for men to be upset if someone joked about hitting them.

To be fair, this is very different from the Amouranth situation. I also got the sense that she might have been saying it sarcastically since he was smiling and didn't seem to take her seriously. Just my 2 cents

I would also find it weird tbh her way of going about is childish and ridiculous but I can get her being annoyed in terms of your bf talking about his past relationships in general.
