Hands down the PS2 was my favorite, and I will stand by saying that it was the best console of all time, and JRPG's was my jam, made my upbringing so enjoyable, but considering its popularity now... its why I'm so jaded with the current market... No creativity anywhere... Aside from a few indies.
I'm sad to hear y'all didn't like Chrono Trigger which is my favorite and in my opinion the best JRPG ever, it literally had everything you could ever want from a RPG, deep characters, a epic (albeit cliché) story, an amazing combat system, and of course the absolutely captivating soundtrack, they just don't make them like they used too...

Id eat up a remastered path of neo if they did one without the extra missions that deviated from the story.

Is there a platform that hosts indev/micro games purely for remastering opportunities? That might assist smaller developers get the audience necessary for larger corrupts to fund such concepts for a more polished product.

Super shocked nobody mentioned Kingdom Hearts during this discussion. But the ps2 was an part of such an amazing era I’ll cherish forever.
