🎲 Casino Venue

Make sure you have the up to date version of the Universal Venue List, you can download it from this post.

Change the Lot Type of any venue in your game to the Casino Venue. Make sure to add all the required objects to the venue in order for it to function.

Once you have sorted out your venue you can visit it with any player and try your luck in the various games on site.

💰 Chips Converter Machine

The first thing you want to do before playing Black Jack, Roulette or Slots is to convert some Simoleons to Chips. To do that, click on the Chips Converter Machine and select Trade Chips.

Acquiring 100 Chips will cost you 1000 Simoleons.

When you are in the middle of a gambling session you can click on the Chips Converter Machine and select Check Chips Count to see how many chips your Sim has left.

Whenever you are done playing and you want to cash out, click on the Chips Converter Machine again and select Withdraw Simoleons.

🃏 Black Jack

Go to buy mode and search for Black Jack Table - place it in your casino venue.

Black Jack Rules
Before the dealing begins, each player places a bet in chips.

Card Values/Scoring:
An ace can be worth 1 or 11, this will always be in favor of the player. Face cards are worth 10 and any other card is its pip value.

The Game:
The player(s) attempts to beat the dealer by getting a count as close to 21 as possible, without going over 21.

You can also click the Black Jack Table and select Rules to read up on the rules in-game.

How To Use the Table
Make sure there is a dealer behind the table first and foremost. If there is not a dealer present you can click on the table and select Hire Dealer.

Once the dealer is in place, click on the table and select Play Blackjack.

You will get several prompts in terms of betting, staying or trying your luck with more cards. At the end of the round you will either win back double of what you bet or lose your bet depending on the outcome of the round.

🍀 Roulette

Go to buy mode and search for Roulette Table - place it in your casino venue.

Roulette Rules
First you choose the amount of chips you want to bet. Then you choose whether or not you want to place your bet on a number or a color.

Color:
You can choose to place your bet on red or black. If the ball lands on the color you placed your bet on you will get a payout that is double your bet.

Number:
You can choose to place your bet on a number between 1 and 37. If the ball lands on the number you placed your bet on you will get a payout that is your 37x your bet.

You can also click the Roulette Table and select Rules to read up on the rules in-game.

How To Use the Table
Make sure there is a dealer behind the table first and foremost. If there is not a dealer present you can click on the table and select Hire Dealer.

Once the dealer is in place, click on the table and select Play Roulette.

You will get several prompts in terms of betting, what to bet on, etc. At the end of the round you will either win or lose chips depending on your bet and the outcome of the round.

🎰 Slots Machine

Go to buy mode and search for Slots Machine - place it in your casino venue.

You can click the Slots Machine and select Rules to read up on the rules in-game.

How To Use the Slots Machine
First you choose the amount of chips you want to feed into the machine. Each time you roll the wheels it costs 5 chips, which equals 50 Simoleons.

Each time you win the Chips you win will go straight to your Sim, while the Chips you fed into the Machine will stay in the machine until you are either all out of Chips or you stop playing.

Once you stop playing, the remaining chips in the machine will go straight to your Sim.

💊 Basemental Drugs Integration

Gambling Addiction
As long as you have an up-to-date version of Basemental Drugs installed, this feature will function immediately.

Any Sim can get addicted to gambling. They will first get a pre-addiction buff that lets you know that they are really into gambling. If they stop gambling and wait until that buff runs out they won't get addicted.

If they keep on playing they will eventually get addicted to gambling, though. I am sure you are all familiar with how addiction works with Basemental Drugs, and this is based on that same system so I am not gonna go too in-depth on that here.

Gambling Addicts Support Group
This works more or less like the Addicts Anonymous feature in Basemental Drugs, but it is not a skill. Think of it more as a tool to get your Sims get rid of their addiction faster.

You can find the Gambling Support Group under the Travel tab on your Sims phone.

There are no Sponsees that will call your Sim up, but your Sim can attend meetings to help them through their gambling craving.

Compatibility to Come
The next release of Basemental Drugs will include a functionality for legalizing gambling on a region by region basis, very much the same way you can legalize Cannabis now.

🔪 Basemental Gangs Integration

Integration to Come
The main reason I started working on this mod was because of Basemental Gangs, as I really want to have illegal gambling as a potential racket for gangs.

Once the next release of Basemental Drugs is out with the legalizing and criminalizing gambling on a region by region basis, I can properly start working on this with Basemental Gangs.

I am sure it will bring a new level of depth to running gangs, along with the other things I have in store for that mod.


Venue List

To make sure this mod works you need to download the updated Basemental Universal Venue list provided in this post. I recommend installing this venue list in a separate folder directly in your Mods folder called: Basemental Venue List. I also recommend updating it whenever there is a new mod version out as I constantly add in new custom venue compatibility from other mod authors.

Seems buggy, blackjack the dealer very rarely busts I countlessly get 18/19/20 and dealer gets 1 more than me and will never bust, seems like just an RNG of if you will win and not actually simulating decks of cards. Blackjack also takes your money on a push which is just not right. Roulette I saw 00 green hit 5 times in a row when i bet red maybe a bug or just unlucky?

I’m having issues w this mod. Everything downloaded and is showing up but when I click any slots or table it just says rules with no option to play. There’s a dealer at the table and I even tried firing and rehiring one.

Lastly, you can add risk by making a bet gone wrong and the gang has to pay. You can even use the same metric you use for betting to show why gambling can be unfavorable.

I love all your mods. This is just an idea suggestion for the gambling and gangs mod. With the addition of the sims being able to obtain secrets from eavesdropping, can you consider adding fixer missions to the gangs? The ability to blackmail and extort other sims or a bookie function and have the gang(sim) take bets, and if other sims fail to pay, you can send a gang member to assault.

most of that has been venue list errors in general, make sure you don't have any other version that might be obsolete like zerbu's venue list for example. If that's not it it's probably another mod thats old that's throwing your game off.

Is there a possibility to make maybe at least the slot machines work at other venues? I guess the casino venue is probably mostly needed for the behaviour of NPC's? But if we just put some slots at a bar or maybe also a WW stripclub, it would be great. Maybe another type of slots which works with money and no chips? Just some idea for a broader gambling possibility. Especially for mentioned gangs I see that it might be interesting to have a possibility to put up some manipulated slot machines in some bar "backroom" in areas where it is usually illegal.

Luv this mod it added so much flava to my game especially with the ask for money mod, I have my sim asking his suga momma for gambling money everyday just to go to the casino LOL * in the future instead of clicking to get coins, can we just put in our wager amount manually because he likes to bet BIG and I don't want to have him click 60 times to bet $60,000 I would rather just enter it!! I just had a cool idea for this mod; could you create a clone of the VIP rope from Get Famous (or use something from the clubs feature in Get Together) to create a "high roller" exclusive area where bouncers will admit only sims who have spent a certain amount of money at the casino (either in that load of it or over a lifetime; whichever would be easier to track?) I'd love to build a lot with, like, a high-end lounge and roof top pool only for my high-rollers.

I think your payout is wrong. I bet 100 coins but only receive a 100 coins. Where is the house stake? I am just receiving my original wager back. Also you need to link probability to your payouts. There is no double downs either. You need an odds script as well.

Will Illegal Casinos be able to be used a Gang HQ? Also do you plan on integrating Wicked Strip club as a Gang HQ? The gambling aspect was really missing for Basemental Gangs. I love the fact that I can use my laptop at the HQ and Wicked Strip club for money laundering. My LaCosa roleplay will be complete. I wish I could assign more drug dealers to the same task for drug sales. Or increase the amounts that a gang member can sell.

I meant automatically spawn like bars, nightclubs, lounges. When you hire one I’m pretty sure you pay a fee and they only stay for a certain amount of time. I did find a mod that will auto spawn service npcs by LittleMsSam.
