Thank you, I was hesitant to share my story, but I wanted to give an optimistic view on experiencing different cultures and backgrounds apart from the negative stories we commonly hear so often. As for sports, I’m not too sure because I have seen fights break out from people of different cultures due to how serious and competitive it was for the win.

That was a nice comment and a very interesting story. By the way I want to add that sports is another way to bring people of all different cultures together.

This was a great video. You both touched on a lot of experiences that I went through growing up and I believed that the best approach is for everyone from different backgrounds to just have respect, be kind, and be open to hearing or experiencing other cultures. As a 2nd generation coming from two different cultures. My family is all blended up. My mom is Mexican and my Dad is Guatemalan, but his parents were Hondorian and Haitian. I was raised by a white man for most of my childhood and I have older siblings who are mixed with Puerto Rican and Dominican. When my Dad finally decided to be a part of my life again. He was the only exposure I had about Black Culture. Yet, it was more African base and he would always be dressed in Dashikis, give me books about blacks in Mexico and the real history of America that was not taught in Elementary schools. Keep in mind that my ass grew up in the projects and me fitting in in the black community was like trying to fit a triangle in a circle. Although I realized at a very young age that it was going to be a struggle trying to find my place or a tribe to belong to. Eventually, I said fuck it. My international ass is gonna blend into every damn race, culture, and whatever God throws at me. God did not put me into this world with an experience that allowed me to view and experience all sides for nothing. If Jesus can love and get along with everybody, why can’t I? I grew up having a very diverse group of friends and had some great times hanging out with them all together from different Asian backgrounds to Latina American backgrounds. This world has so much to offer to limit our perspective on other people’s background. There are two things that could bring us all together, good music and good food. On another note. We communicate better when we share our struggles. At the end it does boil down to classism. Aight, I’m done.
