Drug Dealing

Borrow Drugs
You can now borrow drugs from any NPC dealer as long as you have the required Dealing Trait and Dealing Skill for the drug you want to borrow. 

You will find the interaction in the same place where you would buy the drug in question.

As you can see, the interaction won't list any price, and there is also a limit to how much you can borrow of each drug, dependent on the individual drug. You can for instance borrow more units of Cannabis than Cocaine.

Instead of deducting Simoleons from your Sims household Funds you accumulate debt from your dealer. You will get a notification that you need to pay this back within 5 days.

This should give you a good start in terms of gaining back money before paying your dealer back.

It is also worth noting that once you have borrowed drugs from a dealer you will not be able to borrow more drugs from the same dealer (or any other dealer for that matter) before you have managed to pay them back.

Paying Back Debt
You will NOT get any notifications on when the 5 days are soon up, there is no handholding here. You need to keep track of this yourself. 

Whenever you are ready for your Sim to pay back the amount, click on your Sims phone, go to the Drugs tab and select Pay Back Debt.

The dealer you borrowed from will swing by, you can now click on the dealer, go to Drugs, then click on Drug Dealing and Pay Back Debt.

That is if you have the money when the dealer arrives. If you haven't managed to accumulate the money just yet, the option will be greyed out.

What Happens If I Don't Pay?
This is where things get interesting...

If you don't pay up within the 5 days you will receive a visit from a random gang member. If you have Basemental Gangs installed with at least one active gang, the gang member will be chosen at random from any of those gang members. If you don't the gang member will be a random Sim. 

There are various outcomes to your interaction with this Gang Member, depending on whether or not your Sim have the cash to pay them back or not, and if they choose to pay.

If your Sim has the Simoleons they can pay it back or ask for more time. If they don't have it they can try to lie their way out of it or ask for more time.

Either way they might find themselves going for a little walk with the gang member which will prompt reactions from witnessing friends and family members, and unlocked interactions on return.

Beware though, if you are a bit short on cash and the gang member takes you for a walk, they will take the cash you do have and whatever drugs you are carrying at the time.

It may even prompt them coming back a bit later to repo some of your household items, like a TV, Computer or other appliances.

Dealers Trust
Trying to screw a dealer over that you owe money will make every dealer lose their trust in you for a while. It might take some days until they are OK with you borrowing more drugs from them.

In the worst case scenarios you might even find yourself having to wait a few days to be allowed to buy drugs from your NPC dealers, so the best approach is definitely to have the money ready before the 5 day deadline is up.

Venue List

To make sure this works you need to download the updated Basemental Drugs venue list provided in this post. I recommend installing this venue list in a separate folder directly in your Mods folder called: Basemental Venue List.

Choose one of these 2 installation methods. Not both.

Basemental Drugs Installer (WINDOWS ONLY)

• Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.*
• Download this Basemental Drugs.exe file.
• Run the Basemental Drugs.exe file.
• Choose which Optional Packages you want included.
• Delete your localthumbcache.package

* If you installed from the installer previously, you can delete the old files by launching the file called unins000.exe in your Basemental Drugs folder.

Basemental Drugs Zip (WINDOWS OR MAC)

• Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.
• Download the Basemental Drugs zip file.
• Unzip the Basemental Drugs zip file.
• Place the files in a folder titled Basemental Drugs in your Mods folder.
• Delete the Basemental Drugs zip file.
• Delete your localthumbcache.package
