Quick note first and foremost, as this is something I have been asked already:
You will be playing as the leader of your new found gang. The plan is to implement interactions for playable members as well, but you will ultimately have a Sim start a gang and recruit members to get a gang up and running to begin with.
So, let's just get into some of the core features.
Four available gangs
You will have four available gangs to choose from when starting your own gang.
Two of which will be street gangs, one will be based on the mafia and one on the yakuza.
I have tried to make the gangs as open as possible in a sandbox sort of way so you will manually have to assign your own gang clothes and tattoos (if you like) to the specific members and assign your own members, so you will have complete and total freedom in turning the gang into the gang you envision. The gang names are set and static, though. But lets say you would want the two street gangs to be two rival biker gangs instead, you could easily do that by choosing your own uniforms and gang aesthetics.
The two street gangs are rival gangs, and so are the mafia and yakuza.
Gang Skill System
There are 10 skill levels for each gang leader with new skill rewards for each level. These will most likely be quite similar for each gang you choose to play with. I do want to save some of these as a surprise for once it is released, but some of the stuff outlined below is part of this reward system
Different gang members
There will be different type of gang members for each gang. From regular gang members, to enforcers, bodyguards and a Right Hand Man (or Woman). These gang members have different purposes and different interactions tied to them.

Enforcer High ranked member of the gang
Right Hand Man Your number two
Bodyguard
Purchase Gang headquarters
Purchasing your own gang headquarters is unlocked by levelling up your Leader Skill. This requires the Get To Work expansion. Your gang members will hang out here, and it can be raided by the police, unless you are good at covering your tracks and laundering money.
It will also be possible to launder money directly from your gang headquarters.
Social Interactions
There will be new social interactions that are exclusive to and from members of your gang, depending on their rank within the gang. These will be unique from each separate gang.

These are just a few of the core features of the mod, there is obviously also a bunch of new under-the-hood type of systems and scripts to ensure that playing with this mod will be a smooth and enjoyable gameplay experience for you as a player.
In terms of progress... so far I am done with levels 1-9 for the first leader skill, with all that comes with it (which is a lot, trust me). I am currently working on the last level, and after that it is just a matter or utilizing the same features for the three remaining gangs.
As soon as that is done, the core functionalities are finished and I can properly start working on some of the other features of the mod. - Stay tuned for some more feature explanations in a few days!
Note: I am not taking any suggestions on Basemental Gangs at this time as there is too much stuff to implement already, and I donโt want to overcomplicate things at this stage.
