Poll Time!

First of all. I just wanted to let you all know that I have started working on a new drug to implement to the mod. The next drug that will be added is Magic Mushrooms. It might take me some time to get all of it in place but I will try to get it up and running as soon as possible, perhaps not with all of the stuff I want added to it first and foremost, but at least in a workable and playable state.

Alright, now that is said and done, I wanted to ask you all a question I am curious about. Namely; what kind of features of Basemental Drugs do you personally use the most?

Yeah my sims make alot of money easily without cheat codes and they never really suffer that many consequences unless I make them go outside. It'd be cool if they worked to make a bigger consequence for selling drugs, maybe police raids or something.

Hi Charles. Glad you like the mod :) Sitting and smoking animations are right around the corner. As for cleareyes it's definitely somewhere on the to-do list. Regarding your issue with the snorting coke animation. Have you perhaps altered time settings in MCCC? If so I'd recommend you turn it back to default setting.

I mean it is possible, but this mod will always be more about the collab with WickedWhims. I am sure Sac's mod is great, but from what I gather it is more a bit of comic relief style take on prostitution whereas WickedWhims in general is more gritty and all about realism, which is also what I intend to be about with this mod.

I love the mod, currently im only selling molly #love, but its rly annoying that i only can buy one pill box from my dealer at a time. They always have a chat between each click and the sim hours flyy. Cane u maybe make an option to buy 10 pills boxes at a time or something ?

also I would like more group activities. Like smoking to be more of a hang out around the water bubbler type thing. Not sure how possible that is. Ive also suggested adding easier ways to snort drugs on the go. Like mirrors or bullets that can be in ur inventory and easily shared with others.

I think the whole mod is perfect. Id like to see opiods hit the market. The game is pretty well set up for it already with the over-medicated debuff. Also thank you so much for making it so you can remove people from your High Client list.

I mostly love being a farmer. It would be cool to be able to register as a farmer and sell large batches of flower or other drugs.

I really like the idea of having a sims playthrough like the show "Breaking Bad", I recommend you watch that show! It might give you some ideas. Can you add more to the drug dealing and business aspect of the mod. Maybe we can have clients or a business partnership with some big drug dealers(we sell the drugs we make like Walter White did at first) and add more risk to this life of crime, like gang fights etc. Thanks for making mods&lt;3

I originally wanted the mod for the alcohol effects as I'm not heavy into drugs, but I've since experimented with growing and selling weed and I really enjoy it! My only complaint is I think the animation for smoking takes too long, especially when taking into account sharing with another sim. I like to get my sims high before doing certain things, but watching them stand in that clunkyish animation forever feels like a waste of time. If you could reprogram it to where smoking a blunt/bong was akin to eating in that you can multitask while you occasionally take a hit; that would be EVERYTHING.

That sounds weird. What you could do is to delete your localthumbscache.package located in Documents &gt; Electronic Arts &gt; The Sims 4, then start up your game, remove the trait from the bar, and add it back in and see if that solves your issue

One other quick question if ok please? I was getting a mod error message and finally sussed the source but in the process took all the mods out of the folder then returned them and when the game was working properly I wanted to see what effect the bouncer lot trait has to events but it's gone? (had added it to the bars etc). I was wondering if it's just been taken out on your end and I've been oblivious (again) to the update note? I apologise if so. I've used the mod conflict detector to get rid of the problem stuff. I'm sorry to bother you again, the mod is running awesomely, it's just trying to wrap my brain around things.

For the sake of curiosity; seeing that this is your primary usage of the mod. Do you share the opinion with the rest of the guys that commented on this post that the tolerance still needs to be tuned higher on bar drinks?

I mainly use BMD to make the effects of drinking alcoholic beverages more realistic. I have a drug dealer and several pot gardens, but they're used more for storytelling purposes than for main gameplay. I also use the fake IDs and bouncers on all of the bar-type lots.

In the earlier days of the mod the NPC Dealing was autonomous, but this proved to be problematic in many ways, without going into the details of it. I have not given up on approaching a solution to this though, as I agree that it should happen autonomously somehow.

Cheers. The meth stuff has been suggested a bunch of times and is something I might implement down the road. I appreciate the input nonetheless, though. Addicts can also pickpocket other Sims, as this was the most feasible approach to the whole stealing when addicted thing. I am not sold on this happening autonomously, though. It is possible for cocaine or amphetamine if your Sim is addicted to the drug in question. You know you can turn up the difficulty to hard for police busts in your Settings? That should increase the police busts happening. Also, they will never bust you when you are dealing out of your home lot, so you need to step outside and make house calls if you want the chance for it to trigger. You can also turn off autonomous drug use for your Sim through your Settings so they won't eat all those pills without you actually telling them to do so. Actually, I am not going to add traits that define alcoholism, or pothead. You will however get a buff that lasts for 5 days and is refreshed if you get addicted to a substance, so for weed that buff is Stoner, for alcohol it's Alcoholic, which makes a lot more sense than a trait imho, as this buff might disappear if you manage to go through the 5 days without using the drug of choice

OD'ing and death is already in the game, both fatal and non-fatal OD's. The chance of a fatal OD is just tuned way lower than a non-fatal one so your townies won't die of OD's left right and center

It is not a matter of me wanting to remove anything from it to be honest, and answers like this of course makes me happy, as I personally feel that you need a bit of everything for it to be proper fun, not just one or the other. The mod in general rocks! I love dealing and growing, kinda frustrated dream come true. Also sharing a joint with my sim is great! And using clubs to form a speed/coke dealing gangs is simply awesome for the gameplay. Keep the good and awesome work!

I love this mod. I mostly have mostly have my sim sell and smoke weed. Im excited to hear that Magic Mushrooms are coming into play!!

I love the growing aspect of the mod. My sims mostly deal weed since they can grow it themselves. My husband saw me playing one night and asked why my sim didn't have a meth lab at one point. That is something I thought was amusing and could be fun. There could be new skills added like Chemistry. If a sim is inexperienced and tries to cook up some meth there could be a chance that they destroy their home or possibly die in the process. Depending on their skill level they could end up making some bomb ass meth, or an abomination that can make customers or themselves very sick. Another idea I had would be for sims that are addicted to any substance would not only be desperate enough to offer sex for their fix, but maybe even start to steal autonomously to get some quick cash. I don't know the first thing about coding or if any of this is possible, but those have been a few things that have popped into my head while playing. Either way, you are amazing and I don't know how I would survive without this mod in my game! It really adds some realism to it that is desperately needed!

I'm new'ish to the mod so still experimenting, must say am having fun with all aspects that the mod has added so hard to pick a fave, it's just great to have some semblance of soul to the game now thanks to the implementation of mods! Is there an option to pay dealer with sexual favours if funds are low? (also have "Hoe it up" mod so may be getting mixed up with content). Thank you for awesome content. u just buy a bunch of drugs for my sims inventory and theyre all tweaked out all the time on the pills and weed. i cant get them to sell or make amphedimines nor can i get them to bake edibles. my stuff glitches and im sure thats probably due to some other mod or cc i have installed.

I mostly just let my sims smoke weed and do other drugs occasionally. There is also one of my payable sims in every town to deal drugs

I really enjoy growing and curing weed to sell to my customers :) I wish there were more varieties of weed and the meshes for the plants were a bit more realistic, they are very branchy with a bunch of weed leaves on them. They should be more bushy and have nice big buds growing on them

an idea for the mushrooms, i know in the toddlers pack it makes it to where you see through the kids eyes or whatever. maybe implement that for the tripping part if there is a way to retexture it or what ever you can do to the game. just an idea

Working really well for me but I'd like to have it easier to get caught by the police doing drugs and stuff. And another thing that you don't have to change but it kind of disturbs me, is that you get so many MDMA pills. My sim eats them all the time and then get in a bad mood after and other sims also get in a bad mood. So maybe it would be better to get 3 or something? Good job with the mod. I am so happy with it.

I'd like to see more traits to follow with this mod! Like alcoholic, junkie, traits of their preferred drug like pot head, etc. But this mod is the best!!

I think it would be cool, if it’s even possible, to add a visual affect for the sim who’s under the influence. Like remember in TS2, when a sim would go crazy, they’d see a bunny or dr, but if you clicked another sim to control, that bunny or dr would disappear. So visuals would be very interesting! And also OD’ing and death. Unless it’s already in game. Like perhaps add “go to hospital” when OD’ing, like when a sim is in labor? But it’s great the way it is, but needs to be much scarier like IRL.

I love the drugs (in sim world only) and would love to see a rehab type feature, if possible! I’m not sure if it would work as if may need to be a job, meaning you have to quit your current, but boy would I love to have my troubled young celeb sim jump in and out of rehab!

I love the drug dealing features! I wonder if there would be a way for there to be more conflict between sim and NPC drug dealers (related to turf, supply chains, etc.) or the ability to hire thugs-- this is especially something I'd like with my female sim drug dealers.

Have you altered the Time Settings in MCCC? That seems to be the general cause of this issue. If you have, try to revert it back to normal and see if that sorts out the issue for you

I mostly do realistic type interactions with drugs but Ive noticed that when ever my sims smoke a blunt/joint it either does not show up or the interaction gets skipped completely and they go straight to being high.

As level 10 is the highest level tuning wise that would prove difficult to be honest. But I have thought about (somewhere way way down the line that is) to go into like "Rank 2" when you reach level 10 so you can level 10 more levels of the second rank. If that makes sense.

I do try to story build with my sim drug use. The only thing I can think of is that it's kinda ridiculous that pregnant Sims can do drugs without any negative repercussions. Idk if anything could be done for that, but I just found it wild that my 2nd trimester sim could snort cocaine off the sink in front of her toddler and husband, and nothing happens (except a good time for the pregnant sim lmao).
