Poll for you Stoners ;)
Added 2017-09-25 08:17:32 +0000 UTCI have just had a couple days away from the computer, hanging out with some friends and all that. I will however get a new version up and running by tomorrow (if all goes according to plan). For the most part, lately, I have been focusing on cleaning up on glitches you guys have reported on, as I really want to "finish" at least the basic features of the different drugs now so I can start working on some bigger and new functionalities.
So for a progress report, coke and speed is as good as finished now. For the upcoming version I have added whimsets for both these drugs, as well as new occasional buffs when high on the drugs. MDMA still needs a massive overhaul as I don't think it is modded in quite the right way as is, especially in terms of hangover and addiction. Weed on the other hand will be a constant work in progress as there are tons of implementations I want to add to it. And with that in mind, I made a poll for you Stoners, as I know a lot of you prefer your Sims smoking weed and not do harder drugs.
It seems some of you think that the Stoner sims get the "Smoked Too Much" buff way too quickly. Which is why I want to know how to approach this issue:

There is a certain randomness to the %. After my initial failed attempts, my subsequent attempts took on board the creators suggestion to focus on the comedown period. Right after my previous post, one Sim got hooked to both speed and coke in the same day. Another Sims got hooked on speed on his first attempt. But it was funny that they both got hooked when I had so many failed attempts previously.

Is there a way for you to edit the percentage? I'm not saying do away with this version entirely for those who like this low percentage, but can you make another version with a higher percentage chance?

The second line and the consecutive lines following this one gives you the percentage chance I mentioned. When you do one more during the comedown phase it also gives you the percentage chance I mentioned.

2017-09-27 10:37:36 +0000 UTCI am still trying to get my head around how to sort this out, as this has been the goal all along really, to get an increased tolerance by doing more drugs. However! I need to figure out a way to do it without implementing a shitload of hidden buffs working in the background (as there is far too many already that determines what will happen in the different stages of the drugs as well as with increased use or hangover etc). I considered, or are still considering, making it as a Skill thing as you mentioned, but the main problem with this, is that I am not sure if I can make a skill deteriorate over time, which would have to be the case as your tolerance level will (obviously) not stay the same if you lay off drugs for a long time.

2017-09-26 20:59:41 +0000 UTCHehe. I really want to add some psychedelics down the road, it is one of the things I look forward to the most to start working on. At least LSD and shrooms. Candy and hippie flipping can surely be implemented as well after those two drugs are in place. I think there is a go-to-college mod at least, although I haven't tried it out myself, so I can't vouch for it.

2017-09-26 20:56:28 +0000 UTCI must be odd my sim barely smokes but pops pills like candy......adding LSD and candy flipping would be fun addition or at least sim really NEEDS to touch and taste everybody/everything uhm or so I have heard. :p~~~~~ love the mod I'll be happy with whatever you do with it.Thank you again it makes the Sims much more playable if EA would add College this mod would be better yet

2017-09-26 05:05:05 +0000 UTCIs there anyway to take a gradient approach and maybe setup a 'smoking' skill instead, to gradually increase a sims tolerance by just smoking a ton, or alternatively add a trait that increases a sims resistance to the debuff (either CAS or bought from the rewards list)? Feel either of these could cover a lot bases, and would provide a strong framework for further features and changes, and at the same time meet the demands for both RP and people who just wanna smoke a ton.

2017-09-25 19:11:54 +0000 UTCGood to hear that it has not kicked in when you copy your own behaviour with smoking, then it is working almost like it should. It does make sense to reduce the chance of the buff kicking in when having the Stoner buff active though, seeing as it would be a rare occurrence with increased tolerance and all :)

2017-09-25 12:41:22 +0000 UTCI'm a medical user and I guess I copy my own behavior in the sims cus I haven't had the smoked too much buff yet. So that feels pretty true in my case. Thanks for making this mod, it's nice to have the stoner life represented. When it comes to addiction, you are right you can get addicted but chances are a lot less then with hard drugs, so maybe just keep it in that perspective. Again, thanks a lot for doing this!

And very often from friends who define themselves as Stoners that clearly have a very hard time even going one day without smoking but lie to themselves about it not being an addiction. Obviously, if you have been addicted to coke and heroin, you cannot compare that to weed, addiction wise, and I think almost all people who actually are addicted to pot call themselves potheads, or stoners or whatever instead of calling a spade a spade. 2017-09-25 09:12:53 +0000 UTCI'm not trying to be rude and I'm sure there are people who become addicted my adictions were heroin and coke pot never bothered me I wish some days I could still smoke it that being said maby along the way eventually there could be a way found to turn it off and on

2017-09-25 08:42:11 +0000 UTCI like tuning, and for some of my storylines addiction would be really nice, but to be able to turn things off if it doesn't feel realistic or so makes the mod more accessible. Pie menus aren't always good for this. Like for MCCC, you get a nice long config file you can just go through and set everything to your liking. If possible I think that could be a good idea for this mod as it's starting to get big with a lot of settings you might want to do. How are these settings stored currently? Maybe there already is a config file somewhere I could go into?
