June Q&A answers 🐪

I am going to go ahead and ask for a tier list/review of the places you visited in Egypt! Which were your favourites and why and all that 😊

Many of the places I went to was because I have personal connections with them, and I love being there, no matter how uninteresting they might be for others, so I'll try to make an unbiased recommendation instead :D

1. Luxor. If you ever go to Egypt and you aren't interested in the tourist beaches, go there. I love Luxor, it's probably one of my favorite places, and it's a lovely city. The traffic is not crazy, the city is mostly pedestrian-friendly, and it has a staggering amount of things to see. The Valley of the Kings is not super interesting, but I recommend visiting Seti's tomb and the Karnak temples. Also, go to local cafes. And eat local food. And go to the market!

3. Sail on the Nile. At least once. Preferably with people who enjoy the quiet so that you can just… look. And feel the river.

4. The desert. The quiet, the sights, the everything… It's amazing. Although, I do not recommend going with annoying people who want to party at the place where people literally only go to enjoy the quiet.

5. Any oasis. They are all beautiful.

6. The Grand Egyptian Museum. It's still in the soft opening phase at the moment, but it's going to be amazing once it officially opens. The old Egyptian Museum at Tahrir square is nice as well, the building a piece of history in itself, but… it's old. And very outdated. And way too small. The new one is going to be a much better, more deserving place for those priceless pieces of history.

7. Saqqara. It's a tremendously better experience than the Great Pyramids. If you go to Egypt, do yourself a favor, skip the inside of the Great Pyramid, and go to Saqqara instead. You can go inside the Djoser pyramid there, and there are less people. Plus, you can see Ramses's great statue in town, which is simply amazing.

8. Go to local places. Eat in local restaurants. Meet the people who live there. Buy a ton of spices in Aswan.

9. Visit Abydos if you can and see how you feel there.

Things I do NOT recommend:

- Cairo. I'm sorry, Cairo people. That city has simply outgrown itself many times over. It's sad, but I do not enjoy spending time there at all.

- I do not like going to the Great Pyramids. I know, I know. But there are too many people, the inside of the pyramid was very clearly NOT designed for people to go in, and honestly, there is literally nothing in there. It's just a hot, empty hole that you have to crawl into with several other people panting behind your ass. Not worth it.

- The Alexandria weather is horrible. It's sticky, humid, and hot. Sorry, Alexandria people. The city itself is not ugly, but there is… not a lot to see. I mean, compared to other cities in Egypt. And the new library is way too small for something that's supposed to be inspired by the old one.

What new foods have you tried? What was your favorite?

I'd never had cow head and cow feet before, but a friend's wife cooked some for us! Most delicious meat I've tasted. Seriously.

I remember you saying Petmes could recognize a soul even after reincarnation. Are souls visible like an aura or based more off of a feeling?

For him, it's both. He usually turns off the visuals for himself to avoid the distraction, but he recognizes the feeling. It's the same feeling you get when you go back to… your old playschool or something. Once you are there, you just… remember the place. It's the same for him with people. That's also why he doesn't learn names because he just knows the person's soul, and he is very old, he doesn't age, he hasn't died and will not for a long time, so there is no reason for him to learn names when they are constantly changing with every reborn anyway.

Did you have fun? :D

I had loads of fun, yes. The only time I wasn't having fun was at the desert, because of the aforementioned annoying people.

Would you rather be a berry with human thoughts or a human with berry thoughts?

Narmer: ~laughs and changes the subject~

Qenna: "Berries don't have thoughts though. Then again, you can go out and see a few people on the street like that. It's a possible way of living."

Zaia: "Yeah. What Qenna said."

Tabiry: "Berry. I want to be sweet."

Ahmose: "I think I sometimes already am a human with berry thoughts. It goes like… 'Suuuuuun. Nice. Wateeeer. Niiiiceeee.'"

Would the ROs still love mc if they were a worm?? lol

Please don't make me answer that. Please.

cough. in Qenna's market pov and valentines special they graciously looked at mc's behind ..... is Qenna an ass person.

You know what... yes.

Why am I a nerd 😶‍🌫️ On the serious note, my love for Egypt has always been there because it's one of my homes :)

I thoroughly enjoyed ahmoses response to the berry question ...and for the last one I knew the answer would be yes deep in my bones. I'm glad to see you had a (mostly) nice vacation!! woo!

evie

🫵😳nerd On a serious note, when/why did your love for Egypt start? I’ve never really cared much for hot and sandy places but the way you write about the place makes me actually want to check it out.
