Acknowledgment for Ironcrunch Sources of Inspiration
Added 2020-02-01 01:34:13 +0000 UTCI list many games and supplements under the acknowledgment header in the credits. Here are the mechanics and inspirations I'm taking from each one of them.
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition: Many creature stats from the bestiary:
- Frequency
- Activity cycle
- Diet
- Intelligence
- Morale
- Armor (this value is cross-checked with the Dungeons and Dragons v3.5 SRD bestiary)
- Health
Cypher System:
- The game master intrusion as a house rule.
- The motivation mechanics takes the philosophy of the roll modifiers for conflict resolution from the Cypher System, in which the player decides, by using their wits at the table, to argue a way to lower the difficulty of a roll due to some narrative justification.
Darkest Dungeon: The concept of reducing stress when facing trauma. The Endure Stress table overhaul to gain spirit with a high roll and each result's flavor are taken from here.
Dungeon World: The load mechanic is directly taken from here.
Dungeons & Dragons v3.5: Many creature stats from the bestiary:
- Domain
- Organization
- Type
- Size
- Speed
- Readiness
- Armor (this value is cross-checked with the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition bestiary)
- Combat moves
- Special aspects
Freebooters on the Frontier: The birth of Ironcrunch was the idea of using PbtA-esque game with a random harm according to the weapon used.
Tales from the Wild Blue Yonder: Appendix: The motivations' fluff is taken from here.
The Perilous Wilds: The concept of using loyalty as a value for companion's.
The Shadow of Yesterday: The concept of using character motivations for a mechanical benefit.
