I said before that I actually love T3. So I am not a purist who hates the Terminator sequels by default. However, I find Genisys to be the most incomprehensible mainstream popcorn movie I've ever seen. (The runner-up being "Resident Evil 2.") What's crazy is that this was meant to be the start of a new trilogy, sort of a franchise reboot -- except it was ENTIRELY predicated on the viewer having intimate knowledge of the previous movies. It feels like they used someone's Terminator fanfiction as a script, without any edits or tweaks.
I will say that, shockingly, through all the noise -- Arnold somehow sells every one-liner. This is one of Schwarzenegger's most likable performances. I also feel that buried in all these ideas is the potential for a simpler, better movie -a girl being raised by a Terminator, or "Pops" as she calls him. I would've taken an entire movie of just Sarah and Pops. (I found this meathead version of Kyle Reese to be insufferable.)
