I remember watching this in the theatre and not liking it. The line - "I'm a fighter pilot. I belong in the sky" really ticked me off. Your wife just died and you need to be with your daughter but if he would have said - "daughter, I have to go do this because blah blah blah" and had an emotionaI scene with her, I would have at least accepted the fact that the President is a fighter pilot. Just too many scenes for me like Oh, whatever. Maybe I'm just a jaded cynic.
