Oh! I wanted to add, they considered using subtitles, but decided that it would hamper the acting. So, they tried to cast British English accents by class, basically, so the coal workers have a working class accent, Legasov and Sherbina have upper middle class accents, etc. The scene with the coal workers being asked to dig is my second favorite scene in the entire series :)

2023-07-27 17:43:45 +0000 UTCOne of the awful things about radiation sickness is that there's a period of time after the first exposure that the person rebounds and feels way better. It doesn't last. Also, I wanted to say, I LOVED when you said 'I know we're not meant to but I kind of love this guy' about Scherbina (sp). That's the true heart and soul of the show, and Stellan Skarsgard does a masterful job at portraying that character arc. I cannot wait to see all the rest of the reactions, thank you for reacting to this!
