2023-07-18 18:49:22 +0000 UTCThe reason they evacuated the most severely injured was because there was a hospital in Moscow that specialized in radiation illnesses. The RBMK reactor is different than all other reactors in the world . They told everyone these reactors were different to be safer. A lie most people believed who even worked at the plants. Info was extremely compartmentalized in the USSR so no one person knew too much. The real reason these reactors were different that the show doesn’t address was that they could either create power or be quickly converted to create fuel for nuclear bombs if war broke out. By the end of the mini series I think most of your questions will be answered.
