2022-03-24 16:02:11 +0000 UTCThe only reason he was IN the first Airplane was the movie's in-joke of using stonefaced old retired 60's-70's actors like Peter Graves and Lloyd Bridges, just like real TV police shows and disaster movies did. How we got from the actual deadpan genre satire of "Police Squad" to Leslie bonking his noggin in Disney's "Mr. Magoo" movie, I'm...not sure.
