I always feel like Jenny gets a bad rap -- she and Forrest make their way through 25 years of US history, and her more liberal timeline is only barely seen through a constant of abuse. Forrest has a more traditional conservative timeline but emerges unscathed through everything. I do get why people hate Jenny, but I never will -- she endures so much, she starts out at a baseline of self-hatred and just wanting to escape, and it is only through accepting her love for Forrest (who offers her this almost unimaginable peace, absolute acceptance, and love) that she can finally be calm. It's a beautiful very strange film to me. Thanks for the reaction!

2021-07-31 03:02:58 +0000 UTCThis is my (and I'm sure many others) film to go through all of the emotions. It's fair to feel animosity towards Jenny, but it just is what it is. She needed a lot of time to try to deal with what she went through. Beautiful film.
