Mary Poppins YOUTUBE EDIT (early access)

Comments

Going up this sunday!

Hey guys, are you still able to upload mary poppins to youtube or is it not possible due to several guidelines?

Daniel Fuchs

I love this movie so much and I’m fairly sure I read the book as a child but I got a copy a couple of days ago and am planning on reading it again (or for the first time) this month. I also vote you watch the sequel it was better than I thought it would be and I think it’s worth a watch. I think you would also love Bedknobs and Broomsticks as it’s part animated too! Great movie, great book! I think this type of movie/book is why I’m so into fantasy and sci-fi now.

I absolutely adore the sequel.

I took my youngest to see it on Broadway when she was little, she was 6 and she LOVED it! She still remembers Mary Poppins flying over the audience, and Bert tap dancing up and down the ceiling!

For the bird I remember watching a video somewhere about the behind the scenes and yes it is an animatronic and they had the wire run up her sleeve so they can hide it! Enjoyed the video Mary Poppins is like my favorite Disney movie

this was amazing, another movie that has an amazing dance sequence is seven brides for seven brothers, with howard keel, jane powell

Are you guys going to react to the sequel?

Taylor Tegarden

There is indeed a theory that Mary was Bert's nanny. There are also theories about Bert being Mr.Dawes' son, especially as they are both played by Dick Van Dyke, and uncle Albert being Mr. Dawes' brother and Bert's uncle. Also, Dick Van Dyke's attempt at a Cockney accent is so notorious that a "Dick Van Dyke accent" is an accepted slang term for an American's unsuccessful attempt at any British accent. He's even made fun of it himself. Lastly, P.L. Travers, the author of the book, hated the animated sequence and wanted it removed, but Walt Disney refused. And I recommend the sequel. I know not everyone likes it but I enjoy it.

I absolutely love this movie!! I was lucky enough to see the Broadway show as well and the special effects were stunning!! Everything from them "fixing" broken dishes during Spoonful of Sugar to Mary Poppins flying over the entire audience at the end of the show!!

The film used a rarer sodium vapor light process lit from behind a white screen so they could isolate the live action and put it over the matte pictures instead of using the less impressive blue screen effects of the day which they still used for things like the unpacking scene. I believe the birds were puppets. Ten years after this the same production crew and a couple of the actors made a similar style movie musical with a different story “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” which also has a large animated sequence mixed with live action as well.

Could you guys please react to the Disney movie Saving Mr. Banks? It's about Walt Disney trying to buy the rights to make Mary Poppins a film from the author P. L. Travers. Such a good movie. The movie is about P. L. Travers childhood and pre-production of Mary Poppins.

I know you guys watch corridor crew, and I believe they did a analysis on the scene where they jump into the sidewalk chalk painting! I highly recommend looking into it, you guys would be so invested lol

Rhodessa Gonzales

Did you guys notice that the Bank owner was also Dick Van Dyke? :-)
