In case you missed it, if you go to ep one, where you see Reg and Riko, you see the smoke from the wreckage of the "device" he used to asend on as it pans up to the tree. Comes up later. Another banger of a show with good world building. The Aybss is likened to the power level of anime, the deeper you go...it stares back at you.

Ever since I was REAL young, I've been obsessed/terrified of the massive entity that is outer space, but the truest depths of our pale blue dots watery wonders is supremely fascinating and intimidating. I think that if I could stand in Orth, looking down into the Great Hole there, I'd probably getting sick from my imagination running wild.
