2024-10-08 07:37:21 +0000 UTCThat was actually the real Van Hohenheim who "healed" Izumi. You could just distinguish the two characters just from their voice actors, because they're both different. At this point of the show, we only know that Father is just waiting right below at Central for the ritual to begin and Van Hohenheim going over to different places, casting alchemy. They've already said this a few times, but Sloth has been working non-stop for years, making the tunnels for the large transmutation circle. As for Father/Dwarf in the Flask/Fake Hohenheim, so that you wont overspeculate, he is just as presented in this episode. An artificial being created from alchemy, the representation of homunculus in alchemy fictions. He casted out his seven desires/feelings (seven deadly sins), and molded them bodies, which are the seven characters you've seen in the show. They basically are the physical embodiments of "Father's" seven desires that he casted out. When Lust died, that desire can't return back to him, and is forever lost. As for Greed, if you remember, he "melted" old Greed to liquid, and drank him, which reabsorbed his Greed desire back to him, enabling him to create a new Greed homunculus by casting him out again.
