Added 2020-08-27 21:12:19 +0000 UTCAbout 4 days of intense paint correction and polishing, this turd is shining bright like a diamond. I find it pretty impressive that it still wears its original paint and I managed to remove a lot of defects from the clear coat. It's not perfect because it's 20 years old but man, it cleaned up amazing! Last step is to wipe the paint clean and apply ceramic coat. Hats off to pro detailers, I'm beat.

Regarding project Dubai: I suggested on youtube to do a full gearbox oil flush an replacement. I thought about it a little bit more, and maybe you can have Liqui Molly patronize the operation. They sell the oil and the flush detergent and they also sell a Liqui Molly branded ATF changer machine, so maybe they can supply you with the oil and borrow the changer machine. I flushed mine this week with the liqui molly detergent but used OEM ZF lifeguard 8 oil. The Car has 190000KM and never changed gearbox oil. I had absolutely no problems with the gearbox even with the engine tuned to 900N/m torque. The original oil was almost pitch black and really had a bad look. After flushing, changing the oil and resetting the adaptation values and re-learning, the thing I did really notice was that the small vibration that it had when in "D" and the car stopped completely vanished. It's the same now to be in "D" stopped or "N" stopped.

It does have some ceramic material mixed with wax. I bought a bottle to apply it myself after I wash the car and I must say I am brutally impressed. 2020-08-27 22:15:25 +0000 UTCFor some spots I wet sanded it, ideally the whole car should be wet sanded to get the most out of it, but it's original paint that's been heavily beaten on by the Dubai sun. Lowest I found is 110 microns and then to 140 so it would be really easy to ruin it and I really don't want to do that. I think I removed about 80% of imperfections and for more, I would have to wet sand it but I'd rather live with some imperfections then have a thin clear coat. I'm sure a pro would do better but I did the best I could.
