I came here to post my thoughts because the YT comments were off for some reason. so first of all, I just wanna say that your reaction to this episode is one of my favorites of all time. I've seen many reactions to this show at this point and this series of reactions is probably in the top 3 for me. ok with that out of the way, here are a few things that I wanted to point out while watching: 1) the person Nell saw on the ceiling in the motel room was Luke, which is why she called Steve saying she was worried about Luke. The Twin Thing. 2) speaking of The Twin Thing, Nell flushed her meds because she realized that as long as she's on meds, Luke will never be able to get clean. since they feel what the other is feeling, her being on any type of drug would affect his sobriety so she made the ultimate sacrifice to help him get clean. 3) technically, the psychiatrist never gave her the advice to go to Hill House. he only told her to think about what the house would be like today. psychologists/psychiatrists do this all the time as thought experiments during therapy sessions, to get the patient to play out scenarios in their heads. he never actually expected her to go there. 4) yes, Nell has been haunted by her own ghost since she set foot in Hill House. no, she didn't mean to haunt herself. notice the specific moments "the Bent-Neck Lady" shows up and that might give you an idea of why she kept appearing to herself. don't worry, all will be explained eventually haha anyway, so excited to see the rest of the series with you! this is seriously one of my favorite shows of all time! ❤️
