This episode was INSANE!!! Enjoy!

I agree with everything except for what you said about Mai. This moment is VERY different from the other times you mentioned. Even on the beach, Azula was deliberately choosing NOT to be a princess for the duration of their stay on Ember Island. They are friends, but they do obey her out of fear. Azula did give her orders to fight during the drill situation, but she wasn’t physically there when she didn’t go into the sludge with Ty Lee, which makes sense because they are just teenagers who act out a bit. Acting out, however, is different than betraying your whole country and princess to protect the one you love, which is what Mai did here. She fought fire nation soldiers and was even about to go against Azula herself. That’s a lot more than not wanting to get her clothes dirty. Overall, I think her speech definitely works

The reason why I didn't speak much about Suki's reapprence last episode was because I knew that this episode was really her chance to shine. The running across people's head's? Iconic! Running up that wall? Iconic! Hooking her feet on that bar to do a flip? Iconic! Using the warden's own headwear to tie he's arms behind he's back (which is very similar to what she did to Sokk a in book 1 when he called the Kyoshi Warrior's training a "dance lesson")? Iconic! The fight with Ty Lee on top of the Gondeler (as two 'no magical ability' queens)? Iconic!
While I get what your saying about Mai & Zuko I do also get why some people say that (despite the obvious good she did this episode) Mai's speech to Azula dosn't really work as we've seen Mai disobey Azula's orders before (refusing to fight Toph & Katara during the whole drill situation simply because she didn't want to get dirty) & even yell at her without an apology after (the beach episode) which doesn't do a good job of showing how big the power imbalance in thier friendship should realistically be & thus makes the whole 'I did it even though I'm scared of you' thing not hit as much as it probably should have.
This is also the episode I hinted at a while ago that I think originally made the Tylee x Mai ship popular (as Tylee, who's clearly spent most of her life trying to keep on her royal friend's good side, betraying Azula feels much more significant).
Azula was really flying like Bakugou from MHA this episode lol.
I'm glad the big guy didn't betray them even after being held upside down for so long.
Honestly the team work between our boys this episode was crazy good. Zuko trusting Sokka would catch him. Sokka rewarding that trust. Zuko later catching Sokka in return. Them teaming up against Azula, using Zuko's bending to keep her back which protected Sokka until he could use he's sword skills in closer range before they quickly switched back to keep her on her toes.....just beautiful.
As for Katara x Zuko I think I only really started getting what the shippers were on about once I got to the southern raiders episode that's all I'll say about that for now.
