Maya has a backstory which explains why she is the way she is. I hope they animate that. Otherwise, anime only people are not getting a good chunk of why Tatsuya is treated this way by the family and why Maya is Maya and why the Yotsuba are feared by everyone. Masaki's main magic was explained back in S1. It's called Rupture. It's basically a spell to manipulate liquid water. By meaning "blowing" it up. A living being is usually made of about 60-70% water so you get the picture.
