When a subordinate calls in, the higher up doesn't yell at them about "I don't have time for this!" like in almost every other anime. Whomever is being called accepts that the person calling has vital info to share or that they deserve to be heard out. Idk, but this scene is insanely stressful and deadly, yet the Vice-captain listens to Kafka with total attention. It just felt right.
