I think this was the first show that taught me that you can live in a fantasy world, have incredible magic power, and still be a total chuunibyo. As Kazuma says in a later episode, "Megumin is weirdly smart about some things." She's not dumb exactly, she's a chuunibyo with a really impractical way of viewing life.
