I would agree that's a good way to show the story tell focus. S1 world building/set up. S2, plot heavy/story driven. S3 character driven/character lore/motivation

I love season 3, but season 2 I think it's my favorite. And I feel like we've been where Zuko is feeling, just angry, can't express it right especially as a teenager and so you throw your anger at someone or something else. I wish the show could have explored Zutara ship at least instead of a parody of it. NO SPOILING THE SHOW. I kind of wish they would have thrown in a bit more Backstory, flashback, or a voice over of Ursula telling Azula she's a monster and seen how much that affected Azula. And when Azula laughed I legit got a bit scared, I got Bellatrix vibes. 😳😨. And I still do, so unnatural and unwell. For that question James, if girls do laugh at guys jokes even if it's not funny is unfortunately true. I used to be giggler, and giggled every time my crush would talk to me, thank God that's worn off but it does happen. What it comes down to though is the girl and guy.

My take on the series is that season 1 was very much about setting up the world.. We had to learn about the four nations, that the fire nation had invaded everybody else, what the avatar was, that only he could stop the Fire Nation, we had to meet most of the main characters and so on. Season 2 was about developing the plot. The pace picked up. We met Toph, and while we had some character development, especially for Zuko, the season was about finding out about the eclipse and getting everyone to Ba Sing Se. So now season 3, people are pretty much where they need to be, and the season is about character development. A lot of the season has been expanding the characters, learning their motivations and watching them grow.

So as someone who is sensitive to cringe content this is defiantly not my favorite episode. But I think it serves the purpose of developing the fire nation gang in a way that a traditional single episode of this couldn't. I feel like the writers didn't have the time to develop some of these characters with the time left in the show so this was a quirky way of adding it in.

I just love how close we get to seeing actual vulnerability from Azula and then she brushes it aside. It kills me when she says her mother thought she was a monster and even when she brushes it off with she was right.

I alway like to point this out in case it is missed or not fully understood, but when Ty Lee says she has 6 identical sisters, she really does mean identical sisters. Ty Lee is a septuplet and all seven of them look identical. I can't imagine how crazy that life would be and I really can't imagine what it would have been like for her mother, being pregnant with seven children at the same time.

About relationships I ship Katara and Aang not only because it's canon but because I think they understand each other, they are similar but have differences that complement each other. Katara is much like a motherly figure like you said in previous episodes but she's still is fierce and explosive at times and stubborn. Aang is more childish (because he's a literal child I know) but can be very wise and calm and collected. He has such a beautiful notion of how the world should be and he lives to his principle and ideas. Through the show we see how they help each other in different emotional situation. I know many people ship Katara and Zuko and I understand (I do love the enemies to lovers troop hehe) but I also think that deep down Katara and Zuko are similar in their negative side. For others relationship, Sokka and Suki all the way honestly.

I ship Zutara. Zuko and Katara. Not exactly Canon given TLOK but I don't care. Otherwise I like the couples.

Oooh, the big shipping question... Well. I mean. In all honesty, I think most ships around this show (canon and non-canon) can be explained pretty well. I can get on board with a lot of stuff personally. My personal favourite would be Zuko/Katara, just for the dichotomy of fire/water, and because I think their personalities would mesh pretty well. In many ways, I feel like Zuko and Katara are opposite characters, but they also have very strong links/similarities which would make things interesting. (This of course has nothing to do with the fact that as a young girl, I very much identified with Katara and her motherly side because I am an eldest daughter and have lots of younger siblings and understand the pressure she must have grown up under at least a little bit - and also of course nothing with the fact that Zuko is just, hands down, one of my favourite characters of all time, and one of my very first deep crushes xDDDD). I don't think Aang/Katara is rushed at all, mind you - I just feel like Aang is a bit young and while I totally buy his crush on Katara, it feels weird that he already knows whom he will end up with. It also feels weird looking at the relationship from her side. She is older than Aang, and most girls tend to be interested in older boys because girls mature a bit faster during those puberty years. That said, most of these characters are too young to be seriously shipped probably, but Aang and Toph just really feel like children to me, and shipping those with anyone feels weird to me personally. But I do get that people really love Aang/Katara and that is great. To each their own, I say. It makes sense that travelling together and surviving all those perils and fighting side by side would give them a very strong bond, so I can get on board with them growing into a loving adult relationship over the years. Oh, also Sokka and all his relationships is awesome. I love the tragedy he goes through with Yue, and I love Suki, and yeah. He has amazing taste in women.

this is one of my FAV episodes, we all relate to one character, their swim suits are dope.
