2022-08-25 18:38:24 +0000 UTCThe bad guys had a bit more impact at the time because apartheid was still in effect and international opposition to South Africa and its racist apartheid segregation policies was at its height then, boycotts and trade embargos and lots of protests around the world. That was why it was illegal to import South African krugerrands into the US at the time, those gold coins at the beginning. It was only a few years after this movie that apartheid ended.
