Top Gun 2: Mavrick UNEDITED REACTION (all access)

Having been a teacher, I appreciate both TG and TGM. The scenario is always the same - the new class comes in, you teach them, and then they go off and do their thing. With TG, you don't know how Top Gun works. With TGM, you know how Top Gun works and now the roles are reversed - the one time student is now the teacher (Maverick the student returns to be the teacher). which means that Viper in TG was once Maverick/student. The cycle continues. I also like the lesson that legends are legends for a reason. Even old people.

Sorry, I’m really late to the game because I only just finally got to watch this for myself this morning, then with you guys…But Penny is Penny Benjamin, mentioned by Goose in the beginning of the original as the Admiral’s daughter who Maverick woo’d 😉

I thought it was great overall 4.99 stars out of 5. Totally agree that this is one of the greatest sequels of all time hands down. However, nitpicking i thought overall much of the post Maverick getting shot down was kinda dumb, again keep my overall rating in mind. Didn't like the maverick vs rooster argument over rooster coming back to save him, felt out of place. I know there are recorded instances of downed pilots stealing and enemy plane and escaping, but i think how it was done somewhat stretched credulity a bit and i would be interested in hearing how plausible that takeoff scenario is. Again, I'm just nitpicking and still give it a 4.99 out of 5. I might have had Mav make the ultimate sacrafice and then Rooster fighting for his life to get back to the ship. Maybe have the enemy attempt a counterstrike agains the fleet. Then end the movie with some months/years down the line the presdient awarding Maverick the Medal of Honor posthostumously with Penny, her daughter, maybe charlie and any others from Maverick's past in the audience. Again one of the greatest sequels of all time, and i'm nitpicking.

Yeah, they all did a great job. There was not one character, that I didn't like because of its portrayal.

I love Bob, but Hangman is the best. 😉 Honestly, everyone is talking about Miles Teller as Rooster, but Glen Powell did an amazing job as Hangman. Imo he's the most interesting character.

Tony Scott was the director of the first one . He tragically committed suicide by jumping off a bridge in California . He was slated to direct this before his death . He is survived by his older brother , Ridley Scott . Val Kilmer is actually a throat cancer survivor . They incorporated his illness into the character Iceman . This was a great experience at the theater . Glad it made $1.4 billion dollars worldwide this year . It deserves the success it's getting .
