Snow White and the 7 Dwarves UNEDITED REACTION (early access)

After you finish the Disney movies I'd highly recommend checking out Once Upon a Time. It's a Tv show where the Disney Characters are brought to our world and it's a really interesting concept. It's on Disney Plus currently and I cant stress how amazing the show is.

Yes! Grumpy's arc is one of my favorite things in this. He's in a way supposed to symbolize the people that thought the movie would be stupid and a flop, so he's there to voice how "mush" everything is at the start before he warms up . :,) Fun fact about the voice for the queen; they first intended to get two different voice actresses, but then the lady who did the queen's voice merely removed her dentures and did a great witch voice as well. πŸ˜‚ And agreed; she really is peak 1930's beauty standards, too, so they went all out to make her outer beauty show and clash with her constant scowl.

This is such a classic, I really like Snow White, yes she's kind of a generic nice Princess but she does act like a little mother and it's sweet and always thought it was so adorable that she was making a pie for Grumpy before the hag shows up and I really like Grumpy's arc. He starts out hating her but in the end he's the one that says they need to save her and he also is the one that puts the flowers on her hands when she's in the coffin and I feel like he takes it the hardest, yes they all cry but I feel it the most with him. But the scene when it shows the Evil Queen in the window was always creepy, that voice was perfect. I have no idea if they had a completely different voice actress or they did something to the original Evil Queen's voice but it was perfect. I watch this with my 2 year old niece all the time, she loves it and no she doesn't get scared, she actually is very intrigued by the scarier parts, lol. I always liked the message of this movie that beauty isn't what's on the outside but inside. If you really look at the Evil Queen's face she's actually very beautiful but no one sees it because she's really so ugly on inside, she has like a permanent scowl on her face. She really is one of the most evil villains, she would kill a young girl just because she's prettier then her, she's just so vain! The animation is still so impressive, especially when the Evil Queen is transforming into the hag. There are so many famous animators that were specifically inspired by that scene like Don Bluth who did Anastasia, An America Tale and much more, he was a Disney animator. I would love to see you do more of his films as well! I know I've mentioned it a few times and you don't do many series but I would love to see you dive into Once Upon A Time, I think it would be a lot of fun to hear your thoughts and theories, especially after you've watched so many classic Disney Movies. It's got great twists and every story is not like you think it will be, the characters and the acting is so great, the whole series is on Disney+.

Yes! I would like to add Peter Pan, Lady & The Tramp and Robin Hood to that list as well!

This is definitely one of those cases where you have to wonder what it would have been like to be alive when this came out. It was a huge success and the songs were such a hit that they ended up being sold on record which was the first instance of anyone selling a film soundtrack. All of the character animation for Snow White, The Prince (apparently his name is Florien), and the evil queen, and the huntsman is rotoscoped. The dwarves and the animals were done without rotoscoping. Disney would claim to news sources that they had invented rotoscoping when in fact it had actually been invented by Fleischer studios who had used it in a few Betty Boop cartoons for dance sequences. The people who made Snow white worked long hours for very little pay, and Walt had promised them that if Snow White was a success he would raise their wages. Well, he didn’t keep his promise and there was a strike. He kind of lost it after that. He would go to different newspapers and spread stories about how communist traitors had infiltrated his studio. Walt got so upset about this that one day he just jumped at the union leader and started throwing hands. Eventually he left the country and hung out in South America while his more level headed brother Roy stayed behind to fix things. Sure, he came back eventually but apparently he had real trust issues after that. This is the oldest surviving animated movie, and I say that because there was an Argentinian film produced in 1917 which holds the title of first animated feature. Unfortunately the studio that made it was destroyed in a fire and the film with it.

I plan it!!!

And just from an artist's perspective, please do react to Bambi. It has even less of a story than Snow-White, tbf... and the shortest script in any classic Disney movie, if I can recall. But if anything, I see it as an artistic spectacle that should be seen at least once by any aspiring artist/animator. I still have no clue how they did the water effects! Apparently it was done with the new multiplane-camera (look those babies up, they're massive!), but I still can't wrap my head around it. They didn't rotoscope (or they did.... whoops :,D). Considering how new the animators were with animating realistic-looking people, they made a great leap from their recent shorts to this. Disney really wanted them to reach a certain point of skill/technology before they began this project.

Even though they're a bit dated, I can't help but love the "genuine" fairy tale feel of the Golden Era of Disney. I grew up during both the renaissance and the dreaded "cynical Disney" era. You know the type: the "Haha, how silly, they fell in love immediately and there are stupid musical numbers. How silly. We're self-aware, look!!" ... and we're not quite out of that era after such a long time. :,I Snow-White grew on me as I became an adult, having only known her as one of those old Disney princesses that were doing domestic work because 'sexism'. But it makes sense for her as a character; she was forced to grow up as a scullery maid, and all she knew was how to clean and cook. Of course she'd offer to do this in exchange for shelter.

Please do more classic Disney movies, I love watching these movies, the are actually a time capsule how times have changed and technology has changed.

beautiful bliss
