Big Update - Extra Dimension!
Added 2026-01-05 18:42:51 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Big update time, here's some news.
TLDR for Lazies
I am starting a part-time, on-demand job as a 3D artist. This will give me better income and valuable experience, which I plan to eventually use for furry content, including 3D models, animations, and even a future game project. Because of this, I will likely reduce commissions to focus more on personal projects and Patreon content. I want to avoid burnout, improve my skills, and bring back more passion into my work. I am not abandoning commissions. I just want the flexibility to take them more freely and make them better, faster, and more enjoyable again. Patreon will also get more attention, with things like streams, polls, art packs, and possibly sketch rewards.
Now the real deal
Your boy is getting a part-time, on-demand job as a 3D artist. Yep! This comes with both pros and cons, so I want to share my thought process with you all and be clear about what is going to change. I already know the ins and outs of 3D modeling, but I lack real professional experience. This job will let me earn good money while also giving me exactly that: hands-on experience in a new field. In the long run, this also means I will be much more skilled once I start using 3D for furry content. That can range from simple 3D models and animations all the way to making an actual 3D game, like the VR one I mentioned before.
What does this mean for my furry work?
Of course, this also means I will have to divide my attention between this new job and my work as a furry artist. Most likely, commissions will be what I sacrifice the most.
Why?
I want to use the free time this new job gives me to focus on personal projects. Lately, my passion has been slowly burning out because I have not been able to give enough attention to the things I truly want to work on. It can feel a bit suffocating. I want more time to experiment, to study, and to improve. That alone should already level up my art quite a bit. On top of that, gaining experience in 3D will most likely help my 2D skills as well.
Patreon focus and future plans
I also want to give more attention to Patreon projects, like streams, polls, and art packs. Hopefully, that will make Patreon more appealing and help it grow. In the long term, that could give me the freedom to choose what I want to focus on at any given time, whether that is personal art, comics, game development, animations, commissions, adopts, YCHs, or something else entirely.
About commissions
I want to be very clear that I am not abandoning commissions or the idea of drawing for others. I do enjoy drawing for you all. This job in itself is meant to be temporary. That said, some of the passion fades when it becomes purely transactional, where I need the money just to keep being an artist. If I have more financial wiggle room, I can choose to do commissions more or less based on my own will. I am confident that would make them more fun again. And with new skills under my belt, future commissions should also become much nicer and quicker to make.
Thank you for reading and for always supporting me.
