Child's Play (1988) UNEDITED REACTION (early access)

That's creepy that they based the doll off of an actual doll!! Yeah I think we'll at least watch a bunch of the movies and see where that gets us!

I was terrified of Chucky when I was a kid, so much so that I would hide the video covers at the rental stores, lol. It wasn't until much later that I fell in love with Chucky and the series. They tend to get over the top, goofy but for me that's one of the things I love about it. To not see Chucky move or use his actual voice until 40 minutes in was a bold but smart move, it was so creepy when he didn't move or talk and would just whisper to Andy, almost like they were telepathic or something. They used several ways for the doll, sometimes it was a little person and other times it was a great puppet, still to this day it is well done especially for this time period. Also the inspiration for Chucky was a real doll that looks very similar to Chucky, they were called My Buddy, it started for boys and moved to Kid Sister soon after for the girls. My Buddy practically wears the same clothes and the hair is also similar. You can find them on ebay, lol. Some great fun facts: Brad Dourif who voiced and acted as Chucky was Wormtongue in Lord Of The Rings Two Towers, a terrific actor, was also in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and in Rob Zombie's Halloween films. Besides the remake/re-imagining Child's Play that came out in 2018 he has been apart of every Child's Play film. In fact the whole crew, producers have all been a part of the series again except for the 2018 version, they really all became a family and I love that about the behind the scenes. Also I don't think you noticed but Detective Norris also played Prince Humberdinke in Prince Bride and voiced Jack Skellington. I highly recommend checking out the rest, again they do get a bit goofy and over the top but that's what's fun about it and Chucky as a character gets better and better!
