This is definitely one of John Hughes definitive 80s movies. I love almost all of them (Weird Science is the exception). He had a lot of the same actors in most of his films, and the core group of them were known as the Brat Pack: Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy. The other must watch that has a huge cast of them is St. Elmo's Fire, so I definitely recommend watching that one. Ferris Bueller and Planes, Trains & Automobiles are my other favorites. After you watch enough of these 80s movies, you guys can do Stranger Things!
