I took my kids to see this one in the theater, thinking they would enjoy it, but I'd just have to suffer through. I ended up LOVING it! That reveal at the end is so cool, but even beyond that, the animation is really fun and its just hysterical!

I remember when this was announced that I thought it was going to be stupid and meant for young kids, kind of like those Barbie movies but no this was very clever, thought out and you can tell the makers were lego fans. This was so beloved that people were outraged that it wasn't even nominated for best animated film, including me and who would have thought The Lego Movie would do that?? The animation is amazing, I love how they mix the real lego along with CGI, they make everything like you would in real life. The voice acting is also on point from Chris Pratt, Morgan Freeman, Will Farrel, Elizabeth Banks, Charlie Day and the one that really stands out is Will Arnett, I don't think they would have made Lego Batman without his talent, he made him so much fun and loveable and at the same time hated him, lol. I also remember thinking how could I have not picked up sooner that it was a kid playing the whole time? It made sense like noises he would make with the vehicles and the way he pronounced things and it really was childish, of course in a very good way. The ending is so heartwarming and sweet, he just wanted to play with his dad and I think a lot of people do have the tendencies to want things perfect and him seeing what his son build and realized what was more important and I love it! And the end with mentioning the sister and the look on his face, he's not so different from his dad, lol.
