So, what it's based on: 2 things - literally based on a Korean webtoon (it's literally a manga but online only- only a few episodes have been translated) called 'Now at our school'. I've read the first 8 episodes, and it pretty much follows the storyline, more or less. I didn't try to find the rest of it because it's not really my thing. - thematically/emotionally inspired by the Sewol Ferry disaster of 2014, in which 250 high school students died. There's been a hint or two of this till now: there'll be more references soon.

Spoilers Gyeong-su is gone, just like that, and Na-yeon isn't just an annoying poor little rich girl, she's a narcissistic murderer. It's insane how they keep asking her, "How are you still like this?" and she just can't get it: how important it is to stick together, because all around you there's death and chaos. She literally made sure that there would be a zombie in the room with them, inly because she couldn't let go of her classist narcissistic bullshit. On another reaction I watched, a Korean speaker pointed out that the word she uses isn't nearly as cute sounding as 'welfie' - it's actually something like 'parasitical bastard', so yeah: no wonder Ms. Park told her to cut it out. Finally, I love how every episode there's some cinematography genius: look at about 40 minutes in, where the camera circles around to frame Cheong-san in the middle of the shot, with Na-yeon on one side, and the rest of the kids on the other.
