Thoughts on Commentary

I know there are lots of channels that do exclusivly commentary and exclusivly first time reactions. I was thinking of rewatching some classic stuff with Ninetailedbrush. What are you're thoughts on this?

Comments

Yeah ok! That is the plan! I noticed some of the commentary channels have way more subs and lastmuch longer tho

I'd suggest sprinkling rewatches among 1st time reactions; just because on Youtube I've noticed views on rewatches are much lower. So it'll keep return viewer numbers up as long as there's some alternation

Peter Hudson

YEP!!

So just to make sure I got this right, the commentary ones are stuff you've already seen before, as in both of you have seen it? Is that the only difference we're talking about here?

Haunt

For sure!!

U guys GOTTA put whether it's a first time reaction or a commentary video tho, too many times when I'm 15 min into a reaction ,then realize the person has seen it before and it just ruins it all if they don't label what type video it is😂

There's so much stuff in movies that you don't pick up on at first viewing and so much you forget if you've seen a movie some time ago (even if you absolutely loved it) that I think it warrants several watchings/commentary. I also enjoy people pointing out things about movies they know really well simply because I may not have picked up on it or it didn't register. I, too, enjoy variety - good job on that. Anyway, I'm with Jessi^^^, The Last Unicorn is great!

Claudi H

Oh, and there is talk that it was actually a ghibli precursor 😁

Jessi

Hey, so, while y'all are thinking of expanding. I know you like to focus on animation styles. If you haven't seen it, The Last Unicorn is an amazing film. I have a story of viewing a screening with the author of the book as a host (he told a neat story aboutChristopher Lee) ... anyway. It features different regional styles of animation... the Unicorn drawn in Japan with the other characters in Germany. Super cool. Anyway...maybe look if you have the chance.

Jessi

Awww thanks!!

I don't mind what you watch really; I just like there to be a variety. On some other reaction channels there tends to be a heavy leaning towards a particular genre, or type of show or whatever. I like the variety of movies you have watched so far so as long as it keeps being a diverse mix of genres I am keen to keep watching and hearing your thoughts - first time reaction or not :)

Please, label them. You guys should do what you like, but I just want to know what kind of reaction I'm going into. Sometimes, you just feel like watching something you love with someone who has never seen it, and sometimes you're cool to just see if they see what you do in it!

Jessi

I think I heard that either both of them or at least 9tail still has not seen the Back To The Future movies or Jurassic Park

Andrew

Maybe do the Back to the Future Trilogy also

Demetria Conley

I think as long as you label them accordingly so it's abundantly clear which are reactions and which are commentaries it won't hurt to do some of both. As long as you continue doing first-time reactions as well.

Megan the Librarian

Jurassic Park? 👀

Aljon Villaruel

Sure, but like we watched kill bill 1, and I thought it’d be awesome to watch kill bill 1 again and then kill bill 2

Yeah.

Is a good idea if the first time reactions will still the main priority, I think thers so many good TV shows out there that you will miss if you spend your time revisiting a movie you already watched.

antonio corretjer sanchez

Definitely! I think if you reserve the channel for First Time reactions, you're gonna run out of stuff you want to do. If you're happy revisiting watched movies and just enjoying, and commenting, I think that's awesome :D

pattinaggiojo

Just to clarify, this would be stuff you've both already seen?

Megan the Librarian

I love your guys commentary, like I really enjoyed the Harry Potter book reviews which was pure commentary so doing movies you've already seen to comment on them is something I'd really enjoy

Andrew Hansen

I think it’s fun to revisit old things! You give them another chance, see why you liked it originally, see how it holds up now. It’s great

I think commentary would fit well with your channel, you guys are pretty insightful
