Knives Out UNEDITED REACTION (all access)

Comments

This movie was so masterful in its mystery genre, and took full advantage of it. Daniel Craig just steals the show here. I was pretty surprised when I decided to see this film in theaters, because the writer & director of this movie, also wrote & directed Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson. And while that film was shot so well, and looked very visual stunning. It's writing & narrative just really botched that movie down and it turned me off from Star Wars, so when I saw this just..he seriously can subvert expectations. Don't know if you seen The Last Jedi yet, but it's mostly my thoughts on him. He was a masterful director & writer for this movie.

I will very much argue that Tarantino is fine dining! He is one of the most famous directors of our present time. But I see what u mean. Just a big fan of his

Re your opening comments, I wouldn't say Tarantino is that much considered 'fine dining' of filmmmaking, other than by a very niche audience. A ton of classics from the 20th Century would though! For 'fine dining' I would recommend to check out all of the major ones with Rita Hayworth, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe or Katharine Hepburn... And if you want more recent stuff like Scorsese and what not, you do need to check Jane Campion or Yorgos Lanthimos. Campion's recent 'Power of the Dog' was outstanding, and 'The Favourite' by Lanthimos was sublime. Now on a realistic spectrum that is Fine Dining, with capital letters! Scorsese, Scott, Eastwood... That's just a standard good steak with quality veggies at a trusted and reputed, but still regular restaurant. While Marvel is fast food; Tasty and fun, but nor for everyday lol.

lmao!! Yes!

Yeah that's bit too not family friendly for the channel, but thanks for the suggestion

Also, just cause Chris Evans was here, for some reason "Not Another Teen Movie" came to mind. You could try reacting on it, incredible comedy and self awareness and parody of the teen movie "genre(?)".

Your comment about the directing being so well done that you don't even notice it made me remember a documentary about design I watched years ago (Objectified from 2009, give it a watch, it's amazing, don't think it would be good reaction material though, but really worth a watch), there was the same comment on it, that good design is the one you don't even notice, because it is so obvious, so user-friendly, that you don't have to think about or understand it, you just use it, because it comes to you naturally, without hints or clues.

The donut metaphor finally pays off at the end, huh? The Donut is the case, the donuthole, which would be the answer of the case, because it fits in the donut's hole, has in itself a hole, a donuthole's hole, which is the final twist being the tox report.

I thought u were gonna say it looked better on me....*sniff sniff*

SMH...our fans are too good lol

Marta to Random: "You're an asshole." Me to myself: "Yes, but he's AMERICA'S asshole!" 😄 Love this movie! So many great set-ups and pay-offs! Like Harlan mentioning at the beginning that Ransom can't tell the difference between a real knife and a stage prop. And the film essentially opening and closing with the mug. So many good details. Another great Toni Collette movie with a great cast is Little Miss Sunshine, if you haven't seen it. It's a great slightly-dark comedy; probably one of my favorites. Also, if you've never reacted to the movie Clue, it would be a great follow-up to this. Also really quirky and funny.

I fucking love this movie… and that sweater looks great, but it would look better on my floor. Lofl jk jk. It’s so interesting and completely different than anything I’ve seen in a while. The camera work, music, writing, acting. All of it is SO good

YESSSSS love this film so much. i may have dragged 5 different people to see it in the movies

maeve

Oh no....

I wish Chris Evans would call me a vicious little bitch.
