I mean, the final part of their fight has them basically locked in an almost intimate embrace. It's a shame he couldn't have talked to her, maybe used their position to charm her a bit, and convince her to join their side. I'd have liked that development for ONE of the Sound 4. She'd have been a badass girl later on. If it weren't for Temari I'd be shipping these two the most. And I just knew you were gonna be overly ecstatic once you saw Lee. I can't tell you how pumped I was to not only see him mostly recovered, not only fighting Kimimaro, but doing WELL against him too. Having someone come in at the last second to save a main character in a classic hero moment is good, but even MORE impactful when it's someone who's been through so much and who you didn't even know was gonna be able to continue fighting in the series anymore. It was so powerful. When that music kicked in... This is a classic example of anime doing something that other cartoons simply can't. They tell a much more serious and meaningful narrative than basic kids' cartoons. You're also right about Rock Lee being based on Bruce Lee, 100%. I also like how this version of the dub actually called it the Drunken Fist. In the TV dub, it was called something like "Woozy Fist" or another kid-friendly name. I could kinda see why, but man I hate censorship.
